No, but we still don't have a 420 or 628.2 :wink:
Any pictures available somewhere :wink: (links please)

All 6 liveries? :mrgreen:
All 4 liveries? :mrgreen:

I'll take a look at it, in the evening or tomorrow.

Hm, for the 628.2 ... it think you should leave the "interior"-livery away :mrgreen:

Saskia wrote:Thanks! Yes, I need to know what wagons the Bundespost used for mail, and what livery they had, when DB changed to the new livery at the end of the 80's. And how they where used - in passenger trains (how many mail wagons?) or in pure mail trains (how many wagons and which engine?) :)
Mail cars are hardly something I'm an expert in, but anyway:

Germany's last Mail vans were still blue/cream when they were retired in the late 90ies (today, german mail moves by lorry or in container trains). There may have been cars in the new livery of the late 80ies, but I've never seen a mail car in the "new" colors from 1987 myself; neither in grey (baggage-car-livery), nor in the yellow/grey-livery you've drawn. But there is a DB-test-train-car used for testing new locomotives which wears this livery :wink:

The use of mail cars shifted from mail cars being used in passenger trains to sole mail trains over the years. In the 90ies, only solid mail trains were left. I've seen those quite often in Munich - they were made up of about six to ten cars and got locomotives of classes 103, 110 or 120. There sure have been mail trains with an 111, too.

@Singarporekid: Hm, okay :wink:

@Bernhard: Thank you very much :)
Okay, I would say: Post cars available until 1988, the last year in the experimental yellow livery. After that, you have to refit container cars, which will get Deutsche Bundespost or Danzas (after around 2000) containers. The only problem ist, that AI won't be able to build mail vans then :( Or should we make container cars available as new mail van "livery"?

Take a look at the picture, Saskia: That front bar, is that red or orange?

That's orange. Use the color(s) that I used for my S-Bahn cars :wink:

Saskia,

I like the idea with the Bundespost/Danzas containers.... :lol:
But then again, this idea might create some troubles. In general those trains are normally loaded outside the passanger stations in the freight sections.

However, in the game you passengerstations will already have mail service established and then suddenly no mail will be picked up from the passenger trains no more?
I don't want container trains stopping in my passenger-stations.

Maybe it would be better to create a mail van that is looking like a passenger-car, so you can still have you mail service together with passengers...

whatcha think???

Any progress in coding already?

@Purno

Thats definatly orange. If I am not wrong then its the S1 heading to Freising near Munich. I can remember such advertised Trains. They repaintet it with advertisement or they glued prints on it. The Airport Line in Munich has been a new one they paintet with Lufthansa advertisement on all liveries. Later they used the "Lufthansa" liveries on other Lines, not only the Airport Line. The Reason might have been that they expanded the S1 going also to the Airport. First it was only the S8 going to the airport. Now you can use the S1 or the S8.

That might be a nice livery. It could be made randomly. I remember a big bunch of different advertisements on the S-Bahn liveries during the years.

IIRC, that's the same livery I drew (the blue one in my sprites image), only I didn't draw the commercials (IIRC) and this picture shows a lighter color blue.

@Purno

The Picture is from a Roco Model Train. Its not much to bright. Your Liveries are to dark for the Munich Airport Line. If its not possible or you don't want to draw a new one than its ok for me. I thought that was another one you've drawn.

question

With 7 different liveries, What effects which livery is used?

The date?
Random?

No, I'm not planning on coding it.
Just interested, due to having so many liveries.

I got bored so i decided to do the S3/6
I didn't bother doing the streamlined cab, no one will notice
