The Dutch Station Addition Set is an addition to the Dutch Station Set. I'm not sure the Dutch Station Addition Set gives you all that you need without the Dutch Station Set.
(get what I mean? the addition set only gives a part of everything, since it's an addition to another set).

Love using the Dutch single and island platforms, but wonder if the footbridge can have some extensions made. Many stations I know of with foot bridge access to a island platform has stairs leading to either side of the railway tracks and not connected to a platform. Like in the pic I attached.
Are there stairs that are not connected to a platform?

Not a bad suggestion.
Will see what I can do, because (especially in this case, as the stairs begin at the outer end of a tile) the stairs will need to be steeper.
Dont expect it too soon, reallife issues and work on another OpenTTD project have priority.

Glad you like the suggestion. Maybe if the railway lines and the platform at base of stairs and supports made same colour as the grass might be sufficient. Wish you well.

You can already do that: the NewStations set features void tracks, if I'm not mistaken.

There are tiles in NewStations called Void track but does not remove pic of track .. at least I not figure out how if it suppose to do so.
But you gave me a idea. Some of the grey overlay files in ISR/DWE will cover the rails at base of the stairs so looks like concrete and one has lights. The platform still shows, but the rails and green grass can not be seen.

The problem is not with the tracks, I can make stationtiles with no tracks. The problem is that the stairs are on a platform. That platform is a couple of pixels high. Removing that platform means that the stairs have to be a bit longer to reach ground level. This isnt possible with these stairs, as they are drawn till the end of a tile. So that means redrawing the stairs a bit steeper.
EDIT: And looking at the code, I saw that I already used up all the available Station-IDs in a single GRF.

So this would need a new GRF, the Dutch station addition-addition set

Just another idea. What if remove the tracks and platform. Leave stairs as is. Extend the yellow supports by a few pixels. Then just add a new tile with a few steps simular to the ramp and stairs to platform tiles.
I not annoy you any more about this .. honest I happy to use the ay I shown in the pics I sent with the rails covered over.

Dont worry, you are not annoying me

Like I said, I like your suggestion and it is worth looking for a nice way to impliment it.
But as I also said, it will need a new GRF (as the current DSA-set is full), but I also have some other stuff laying around that I could place in a new GRF, so also no problem with that.
However, another project has priority right now....

In that case I give you one more suggestion to ponder on. What if the end stairs was a L or U shape as they descend. I been fiddling with them in Corel and did 2 L-shapes as an idea.
The footbridges you have designed are they based on what is in your country? Most I seen in Australia are not covered, made of wood and open to the elements.

That is a very good idea to get it to fit on one tile!! Will keep that in mind!
That particular footbridge was not designed by me, however a lot of footbridges in Holland are covered, it rains a lot here.......

My son suggested one more idea .. U-shape stairs.

Or just make a platform with a few steps?

Hi,
I been making some footbridge objects using your footbridges from this set. The Object set allows the bridge stairs to reach ground level, cross roads, and can be used as stand alone to cross roads and railway lines without connecting to a station.
Wonder if the makers of the Dutch Station Addition Set like the idea.
I've completed different types so the connect almost to all your footbridges.
A working set is available on my forum at

Hope you like
Regards
Garry

Hi Garry,
Yes I like the idea (already liked it when you suggested it some time ago), but I have a couple of issues:
1. With this setup, the stairs are longer than a tile.
I must say that I like the idea of U-shaped stairs a lot better. It doesnt stick out from a tile and makes better use of the empty space of the tile.
I could make the U-shaped stairs from the graphics you already made, so no need to draw them yourself (I have seen you are rather busy with your own GRFs

)
Would you mind posting (or PM-ing) the graphics of the stairs you made (without the other graphics of the GRF you made)? And is your stuff GPL-licensed?
2. This GRF already used up all the available Station-IDs in a single GRF.

So this would need a new GRF, the Dutch station addition-addition set

As stated earlier in this thread, not that big of a problem, because I have more ideas I would like to add.
3. MAJOR ISSUE!!

Time..... I am very busy with real life stuff. So don't expect anything anytime soon. But keep submitting ideas and suggestions!!

Sorry for the necromancy, but it has been brought to my attention that I didnt post the sources for the most recent version:
Apparently I was working on a version 0.9, no idea anymore what is changed from version 0.8 that is on BaNaNas (I think I started with some fixes to boundingboxes)
