Looks good, but there are two things I react on:

- the tower is wider than deep, towers are almost always square. I *think* it would be better 2px less wide.

- something with the tower roof makes it look lopsided. I can't point at the exact problem, but it looks wrong, somehow. Maybe it's an effect of the rectangular tower base (see point 1).

Hi Irwe :) would you have any plans to draw any of these:
- Gas Station (petrol station)
- Supermarket
- Retail Market (market square with goods being sold from stalls etc)
- Windmill?

...I am working through the list in this link below, but if there was any overlap with your set...who knows :P

I agree on that one, I had some problem making the tower fit rest of the building. I'll try to make it a bit different (2 pixels less wide for example).

I'll absolutely make a gas station like Statoil, OKQ8 or Preem.
andythenorth wrote:- Supermarket
Well, I'll be making shopping malls in the core of the city and outside city core there will be supermarkets with swedish companies (ICA, Elgiganten etc).
andythenorth wrote:Retail Market (market square with goods being sold from stalls etc)
I have been thinking about squares and parks etc but a market square is nothing I have really planed right now.
andythenorth wrote: Windmill?
I don't have any plans for windmills at the moment.

Well maybe FIRS can have some Swedish buildings...??

Most FIRS buildings are North American or British, but the sand pit was from Germany, fertiliser factory was Norway, the aluminium plant is from Oman, and some of the cement plant is from China :)

cheers,

Andy

Ofcourse you can use some Swedish buildings, then FIRS will be a even more international project :D

Edit: I also updated the second church.

Very cool work sofar, definitely gonna use it once it's released. Architecture is pretty similar with finnish style so this would be good with finnish trainset aswell :)

I hail you, Irwe. Although, if we want a huuuge church, isn't the Uppsala Domkyrka the biggest? :P

I hope so  . I want as many people as possible to enjoy this.

I believe so Chrill. A third church will be done but not for the Beta but when it does it will probably be the Uppsala Domkyrka

The Swedish House set has A LOT of buildings but is far from completed and we are planning to get as many buildings in this set as possible before the Beta. But I'm having some trouble deciding which buildings are more important and which that can wait for future relases. Right now I'm planning to include all buildings done so far (see first post), 1 more "miljonprogrammet" flats, 2-3 more office blocks and some terrace houses in the Beta. But I feel that this wont take more then say 1 week from now so this leaves some time left before 31th of August (which is the Beta deadline) and some more buildings might be included in the Beta.

So my question to the people is, what more buildings should be in the first relase of the Swedish House set?

Here are some examples of buildings that could be included.

-Gas station
-Shopping mall
-Super market
-Parks/squares
-Chinema
-Stadium

Nice to see my little store in FIRS

Here is the store in its natural habitat.

Wouldn't it be confusing if you have both FIRS and the Swedish houses loaded? There'd be Swedish set stores that are simply houses, and FIRS stores that are industries, without the player being able to tell the difference without clicking on them. Or have I missed something?

At the moment you're right, but eventually that particular industry will become a 'house' in FIRS as well.

It's just coded as industry now because I was lazy... :P

But as soon as they're both houses, it doesn't matter any more if both sets supply the same building. Even one set can disable it's duplicate if the other set is loaded.

That's correct unless precaution is taken in the grfs' nfo code.

If you want I can send you the house code and sprites with construction stages and snowy graphics. But not before Friday as that part of my Swedish Houses set source files is 200km away from where I am at the moment.

That might be useful, as.
But don't rush yourself, as recoding the General Store as house is scheduled for 0.1.0-milestone2, which is still rather far away :P

This set is GPL'ed, right?
