Absolutely, though I got a full time girlfriend too.

alright, after some thinking, it's decided that the dutch mini meet is postponed to another date, yet to be discussed. Stijn and i thought of an autumn meet.
is everyone completely positive about not coming tomorrow? i don't want one person ending up at 14:00 alone. although there's aways beer to drown the sorrow.

No amount of beer will make up for the distinct lack of GoneWacko.
The only person I feel might end up showing up is Toni. Sucks to be him!

An autumn meet would be a better idea indeed, maybe we could also convert it into more of a mainland Europe meet by moving the location to Amsterdam (and maybe changing location to a different capital each year) so people will be able to use Europe's high speed train network. Just a thought.

I do like to come too, but I can only go in weekends
About the location: I don't know what the previous location was

, but we once met in Utrecht, which is connected to the high speed network too (ICEs), plus it's a bit more in the mainland of Europe, and more central in the Netherlands.

Personally what I'm really looking forward to is a simple afternoon sitting in or outside a pub, drinking a few beers and having some laughs. It doesn't have to be a big official tt-forums meet type thing, for me personally.
That said, if you do mean to organize something like a big meet on the European Mainland, it might be a good idea to do it outside of a topic called '
Dutch Mini Meet'

On a second note, Owen was talking about the possibility of an Autumn/Winter meet. It might be an idea to coordinate with him; I don't see why the meet should be in the UK!

Oh agreed, a small get-together sounds fine too. I got the impression Xeryus meant an international meet by mentioning the high-speed lines.
I guess we can just plan a small mini meet and if a non-Dutchie wants to join in too, why not?

Well, I was thinking of having a meet in Edinburgh in December or so. But if you want to make a possible Dutch meet more international friendly, make it happen on a Saturday afternoon (that way, people could fly/get the train in on the Saturday morning, and stay overnight and go home on the Sunday or something). Depending on when and where you hold it, and how much money I have, I may turn up, you never know.

I think saturday is the best day for Dutchies too. Then you can make it late without having to worry about getting up early on mondays.

Some people have to work on saturdays too, fortunately I don't have to
And yes, I meant to have a bigger meet somewhere too and Amsterdam might be a good place to start, it is quite cheap to fly to from most parts of Europe and using the high speed network is so too, but maybe we should start a new threat for that.

I'd say focus on a Dutch meet, and we'll see if any non-Dutchie wants to come...
Just my 2 cents...

You can also do what Owen did, visit some people individually, that works better sometimes than organising a meeting.

So, any progress? Maybe through this meet I'll regain my interest in TT again... (please not the end of September... Important convention coming up!)

I think we need some volunteer to really organize this meet...

I'm close to a total stranger when it comes to Utrecht. As of that I hesitate to organise this meeting, although I really like this meeting to take place this year. And Utrecht seems to be the best location to me by far.

Guys, I'm giving "us" 1 week time to find someone willing to organise the 2008 meet. If noone came forward by then I feel, after discussion with fellow mods, that this topic doesn't deserve to be sticky anymore.
