Where is the no.5 (from the top) engine from?
Didn't know we had such a colorful engine in Swe. Nice work though!

With my limited experience, I'd say it looks great.

Thanks :D and I think I've figured out what was wrong with the diagonal view. One pixel just down to the left under the tank did the trick and the text on the Shell tanker was a little bit off.

I need help with the shading on the second diagonal view. I've made 3 different tankers with different shading but I cant see which one that looks most correct.

Again, I have very limited experience but I would say that number 2 looks the best.

You might want to do it in all 8, as it's a shorter-then-full-length sprite, plus, it's dont have a symmetric look.

I know they aren't symmetricle but I thought sprites only had 4 views so the front always was shown. But it seems logical to draw all 4 directions from the backside too, gets more realistic that way.

(I'm on vacation, so I can't spend too much time on TTDP for the moment)

They are getting quite nice, although there are a couple of things I'd prefer changed:

- as DJ says, you need all 8 directions, the ones you have drawn now are 1,2,3 and 7

- the light comes from the right, with the sun a bit up in the air. That means that the right end in __ view should be lighter than the side (you have made both ends darker). It also means that none of your earlier alternatives for \ was completely 'correct' (== as I want them). The shading of the ends should be like a slow diagonal gradient, brightest on the upper right side (it's difficult to explain in words!)
Example67.png
Example67.png (1.2 KiB) Viewed 3638 times
- round ends are difficult in \ / views. Now they look to fat/wide, with no obvious edge where the end turns into the side. I haven't tried drawing a tank yet, so I don't know exactly how it should be done, try looking at other sets and 'steal' ideas from there :-)

I knew there were something wrong with these tankers and obviously it was the shading as you said. The shading is the hardest for me to get right but I'll try to explore more on the palette to get it correct (as you want them AndersI).

As for the round ends in diagonal view I also thought they looked flat and ugly but I didn't really know how to fix them. When I drew these tankers I looked at some simple tankers made my Purno (I think) but I guess I have to look at other tankers aswell to get some inspiration.

Anyway thanks for the feedback!

Just to show I'm still working on this set... Here is the current state of the tankers in their oldest form.
Slowly, very slowly, working on more modern ones (more colors!).

Just have a quick question about the Swedish train set, which I've been enjoying immensely...

Should there be a separate coach released when the X2 becomes available? I got the X2 and the DVT end, but no separate coaches - however all the currently available coaches kept their brown colouring when added to the train (whereas they got the blue/red paintjob when coupled to the Rc6.)

It's currently 1995 and I still don't seem to be able to build an X2 train. Any ideas?

Just add more of the DVT (?) end and it will be converted to coaches at appropriate places :-)

I will like to thank you for your great work with this nice train set :D

But I have a felling that the loading speed of all trains in this set is above average of other train sets. Is this correct?

I do not remember if the Öresundståg (X31/32) is included in the set. If not I will suggest to draw it if you like :)

Ah, brilliant. I'll try that.

DVT = Driving Van Trailer. Aka "Unpowered Pointy End"

I honestly don't know. I have not knowingly changed the loading speed, so it's probably just like the original trains. Maybe most sets make the loading slower? There are lots of balancing left to do, prices, capacities, loading speed etc.
I do not remember if the Öresundståg (X31/32) is included in the set.
Those are not drawn. The closest is the Y2 drawn by Purno (separate grf), but the coloring is not quite the same.
If not I will suggest to draw it if you like :)
I'm not quite sure what you're saying here, but if you are offering to draw the X31 you are very welcome! If you are asking me to draw it, the answer is "maybe". There are lots of other things I want to have first...

Sorry, i did not made that very clear about the X31. :(
What i ment was that i suggest that you draw it if you have the time for it :)

After a bit of research I realised that Purno has already drawn the SJ X31/DSB ET for the danish set, but it's not coded yet (as many other sprites in the set). I you ask Purno, i think he will allow you to use the train in the swedish trainset too. :)

Hello together,

I'm using this set mainly because it's compatible with the db-set, and because it includes the Iore :D .

Anyway, I found a bug with the Iore, using it in OpenTTD: If any cars are added, they weren't attached at the end of the engine but between the two sections. So I had a look at the nfo and rebuild the implementation of the engine similar to the way the Dm3's are written. During that process I also doubled the power and weight of the front-engine, as recommended by the wiki of TTDpatch.

Well, here it is then, the changed grf and the nfo file, for anyone who is interested.

edit: spelling
