I just started my first "serious" game of OpenTTD. Sub-tropical climate, US train set, the new canset stations, TTRSv3, LV 3 3/4, Pikkabird's aircraft set.....great game

simple but efficient junction
I'm not a big fan of those huge -and IMO unrealistic- junctions some people build.
The following screenshots show a quite simple junction that does not take too much space, but still has a potential for multiple possibilities of 'parallelism' (i.e., simultaneous entrance or departure of two or more trains) using PBS.
Of course, for *really* busy junctions, a fly-over may be considered.

Heres a screenshot of a power station where I send all of my coal on the map to. It is not a very complex station, but is the most complex one I have built so far.

Re: Random Screenshots
I recently played a game of OpenTTD online on one of the 'high difficulty' servers (I think they're czech).
These servers only allow up to 30 trains per company so after I hit the limit I got bored and left.
Unfortunately some guy went and used all his money to level large parts of the terrain before leaving, not only ruining the game for the rest of us (the mountainous terrain was one of the things that made it challenging) but also ruining the terrain around most of my better stations and junctions, so unfortunately I couldn't make too many screenshots to be proud of :-p

- Because money is hard to come by, all of the company's trains are pulled by MJS 250's until the early 90's. Their low power doesn't help in these steep hills, but they're cheap and highly reliable.

- After many years, the network has finally expanded to lower grounds. Frinborough Valley has quickly grown to be the main hub for food related transport in the country.

- Cuborough Bay is one of the larger towns in the country. The national stock exchange and the national bank are located here, which has caused the town to grow into a passenger and gold hub.

- Grunway is one of the bigger cities in the state.
Situated near many great skiing pistes, the town has grown a lot since tourism reached the area. Trains from the lower parts of the country come and go on an hourly basis. - 4.png (122.03 KiB) Viewed 4586 times

Re: Random Screenshots
Thanks! I was playing on a 128x128 isle and covered all industries and towns. Trains and trams, no busses. All wheels of steel.2-10-0 wrote:I must say Tony, that is an excellent looking shot. I'm impressed!
Here's another part of the network. A gigantic crossing where ±8~10 railway lines are connecting together. It took a while to get it all synchronised (not to demolish too many buildings and retaining the railway stations) but it worked out quite well. Maybe my most complex network so far.

[Shameless Plug] Although, I think BK Tunnels would look a look more suitable behind your main stations there!
