Well, the only thing that looks odd to me is the tree. In the picture doesn't seem so close to the wall. As the sprite is now, it seems as if people could climb through the branches and enter through the windows. Do you have another picture of that hotel from another angle? Maybe it's actually like that. However I think it would look better with the tree looking a bit further away

Also, I've noticed that I cant get any hotels showing up in-game. And what vehicles can be refitted to carry tourists and petrol? Although the buildings are excellent for scenery, I'd really like to service them

.
I think you have a bright future as a building artist, I think RV's have been done to death now, buildings seems to be a specialist area dominated by Zimmlock at the moment.

I had only that photo.
Is there anybody here from Praha? Could you help us with more pictures of this building? It is at Gradchanskaya Square.
Aegir wrote:Also, I've noticed that I cant get any hotels showing up in-game.
They should appear in any time. But their amount is limited.
Aegir wrote:And what vehicles can be refitted to carry tourists and petrol?
LV v334 can, DB set XL tankers can trunsport petrol. New ships can transport petrol.

You can do it. And they accept and produce passengers and mail too

But back on topic. That is wrong with the roof? Now I'm sure that something is, but what? Who can help? HELP, PLEASE!

Well, buildings are relatively easy. And no, I´m also working on a buildings set since a couple of time which has some 250 buildings ATM. And no^2, it hasn´t been released yet.

Serbian rail set is also able to transport tourists and petrol (altough it's still in development).

Well thats my point (Although I didnt exactly say so), Zimmlock has a fully functional released set, you have the usual amazing work in progress (Some more taster screenshots would be
very nice you know

), and Szappy is coding Sanchimaru's Japanese buildings, but the grf is a tad unstable so I didnt count it.
I'd like to see more variety in the buildings area, somthing that more closely suits the various train-sets around (Hopefully your European scenario will fit that nicely).

Well, yes. That´s the point. I´d like to have a really good integration of town, station and industry buildings.

Your my hero.
Thats the exact thing I've been trying to do with my station set (and my barrage of suggestions to DanMacK's Arctic Renewal Set), keep a consistant set.

Heya, George! Your hotels are looking awsome, Bub, and the Lenin statue is, truthfully, perfect, given the pallette limitations.
I think the roofline of the Praha hotel is fine, but I have to agree with Sanchimaru, and say that the trees on the side appear a bit flat. Perhaps if you added and/or deepened the shadows on the building behind them it would bring them more to the foreground a bit. If you'd like, I could take a look-see.
Cheers!

I'm not sure now. May be it is technically right, but visualy not. At least 4 people have this opinion. May be it is an optical effect, but it has to be negated somehow. Could you try?

I tried to rework the left hip (левую вальму), but it turned out somewhat ugly. I hope you'll understand what I was trying to do.

And have broken the top line (конёк). I've tried idea like this, but looked more ugly. I don't know what to do

Heya! I think that I may have found the problem. The shadows on the roof were reversed, in that the SW dormer was light, while the NE was dark. I've reversed it, and, hopefully, this will quell your concerns.
The shadows behind the trees did the trick, there, though. This is a fantastic looking graphic, George. Keep it up!
Cheers!

Okay, I've played around a bit more, and I've noticed that yes, Hotel "Pribaltiskaya" does show up, but hotel "Zvon" and "Praha" (Praha is understandable, still working on the graphics) do not.
Also I've noticed that when the grand hotel finally does appear, it is very far out from the center of town, almost looks out of place.
Nice work so far

Do you mean that they do not appear in your cities? Send me the save

You working on the graphics? Do you have suggestions?
Aegir wrote:Also I've noticed that when the grand hotel finally does appear, it is very far out from the center of town, almost looks out of place.
it SHOULD be in zone 1 (that is far from the city centre in big towns). It is located this way in SPb (Subway station Primorskaya, where Hotel Pribaltiskaya is, is the end station on line 3).
