Here's a huge file from me. It is size 2048x2048 and contains 4.5 million residents. The bottom right side of the map contains a city with over 1 million residents alone. I tested it, and much of the city itself grows very quickly. My suggestion is start by providing bus and ferry services. There are about 3 or 4 other cities of reasonable size too!

EDIT. The file is too big to upload. So I have another file with a smaller city.

hi everybody, it's my first post here...
(i don't speak english very well, but i'll try to do my best)

I did a scenario based on "a Song of Ice and Fire" a fantasy book of George R.R. Martin. I reproduced the north of "Westeros", from "The Neck", to "The Wall". It's a land of ice and snow, with some mountains, and isles. It's the country of the Stark's family, that's why i called this scenario "Westeros - Stark's North". There are some cities (less than 10) and the biggest is Winterfell (around 1k500 inhabitants). Industries are a little bit far from each others, so as a conclusion i can say that my scenario is medium hard :// lol.

I hope you will enjoy it.
Tell me if there are problems, i'll try to do my best next times (i need to do the south of Westeros - temperate, the north of the wall - extrem arctic, and why not the exotic cities - tropical...)

Moe.

your map is very small and yet crowded indeed... try uploading the original one. if it is beyond upload limit, put somewhere on the internet and give a hyper-link. thank you.

You may also try to compress it ;)

Unless he's using a custom build, the save data is already passed through gzip. Further attempts to compress probably won't work too well.

This is my first attempt at a map. I tried to make it as close to real as possible. I took some liberties with Industry, like Michigan doesn't have coal (we do have copper) and rather than oil we have Natural Gas. Let me know what you think. If you like the map and would like me to make other real maps I have a pretty good system to get it done. I just would need some local info like where to place Industies and what kind.

As we can see, this thread is falling off the bottom of the page now.

I would like to collect all the Scenarios in this thread and put them un this database for downloads so they don't get lost forever. The same with savegames. All I require is the savegame itself and a picture of the minimap at its largest.

I think the best scenarios (all?) could have been added to futher relases of OTTD

That was the plan when this topic was first started. Nothing is happening with them, and if they are left they will be forgotten forever :(

First attempt at a scernario, doesn't seem too bad though :)

Island - A sparcely populated area, two large towns, 2 medium, several small. Farming plays an important role, although copper ore just needs to be exploited, oil exploration has revealed one large oil field centered around Panhall, although the land is hardly viable for a relatively large rail network.

Only based on 128x128 map, may attempt a bigger version of above with more industy and harder terrain.

This is quite a long thread and a lot of people have posted scenarios without screenshots. Anyone who actually focuses on this a lot, please give us some kind of rating on the scenarios, as well as relevant facts like map size, newgrf's required (if any) and so forth? Cuz I'm sick and tired of the random map generator, but I'm not entirely willing to just blindly download tons of scenarios and try to poke around at them.

For those who are interested, here is the map now, it has grown somewhat...
