Sometimes industries will find a bit of land to build on and flatten it out to make it suitable to build on, you just happen to come across one

Only levelling. OTTD levels a suitable area of land for industries which can only be build on flat land. There is no similiar mechanism for slope-aware industries.

In addition to that: FIRS industries are currently not slope-aware.

Only when OpenTTD tries to place industries it tries to level the terrain to provide room for it. The limit for OpenTTD is one heightlevel.
If player places the industry he has to level the terrain him/herself first.

speaking of hardours, I haven't seen them generate for some time (playing with 0.2.0 in stable 1.0.2)

There are no fishing grounds in 0.2 ;) They will also show up in 0.4.

Hmm... I didn't know industries could move so fast, maybe its taking into account how fast its moving as the earth spins?

Not a bug: the OpenTTD version you're using is too old! You need at least r20086 for that feature to work.

I guess I should add a version check and not display the intro date for OpenTTD < r20086...

Now that is a bug. :wink:

The range for the availability display is 1740-2099. The brewery is actually introduced around 1640-ish, but that obviously doesn't fit in the range. With some signed interger overflow and stuff like that you end up in 1998.

The solution is simple, just not implemented (like the game version check is not implemented).
