YEAH! have it like SUPER EXPRESS for the year they did that test :D though I konw it took awhile to get up to that speed, Im guessing the max te will be the same as the TGV Thales or a tad bit higher :)

but thanks for considering this. PEOPLE! PLEASE! Wouldn it not be fun to have a 570Kmh train before the Superbus Maglev Bus thing(or whatever it was called) comes out : P

Yeah I know it must have had modifications, and I know it was only the TVG EMU and 3 cars (which was filled with techs and computers)
But it would be nice to have that thing in the set and call it the TVG EXTREAM or soemthing like that :P

God that thing sounded like a jet going by :P

PEOPLE! PLEASE SUBMIT RUNNING SOUNDS AND HORN/BELL SOUNDS PLEASE! It would be nice to hear what each train sounds like :)

Also could there possibly be a unlocked, extream version of the TVG so that it can go at over 570KMh (which is aorund its absolute max speed when its pushed for speed on a line that will allow it)

Well, it'd be a shame if the test TGV would replace all normal TGVs. Adding a 570km/h TGV is fine, as long as you make it unattractive enough so people won't be using those 570km/h TGVs at every single passenger line. I guess giving it very high running costs and purchase cost, along with a slow acceleration (which means it'd be only useful at long straight lines) and a max of 5 coaches which perhaps wouldn't even carry something (as the test TGV probably only carried measurement equipment and staff) would be kinda enough to make this vehicle pretty much useless except for a test, just like in reality :P

It actually carried people (those who are important for French railways) and equipment :) - but nevertheless I agree with your reasoning. It should be pretty expensive in both running costs and building and slow in acceleration in order to not replace the "normal" TGVs easily. But if balanced this way, it might be a good addition :)

well i know the idea for having a super speed TVG does seam a little off, the test on as far as i know looked ok, and didn't look no where as ugly as American Style trains (blocky yet powerful)
At least make the acceleration not so slow its almost use less . even if it was in between 100 to 200 kN TE Iu would be fine. The high running cost is a good idea as keeping something that fast runng on even todays rails and technology would require repairs quite often to replace worn out parts. something like this should be used just for really long distance lines that even using the TVG, SHinkansen or ICE-3 would be impractical.

I do hope to see the Test TVG in the set evetnually if people actully want it :)

I agree that would be pretty funny. No need to make it have a slow acceleration (the real thing had motorised bogies to speed up even more). Maybe give it a little more expensive running cost and a higher price, and most important give it a capacity of, say, 10 passengers for the whole train, in order to make it very unpractical to use. And also, even if it's not 2cc, please give it the official painting:

even at 3 wagons max (or simply, a "one-click-build-head-wagon-wagon-wagon-head") it would only hold about 200 passengers, and that itself would be pretty useless, even with a high enough running cost... i guess i'll make som tests a day i feel like so :)

TGV V150 ? :)

The other option is to do what the French do and make the TGV require its own high-speed line that isn't used by any other service. As the TGV (and subsequently its track) wouldn't be available for at least several years of game play then it's a safe assessment the player will only build the improved infrastructure in certain areas thus limiting its overall effect, especially if it has limitations such as suffering heavily from an incline.

The thing is, unfortuneately, they do not require their own railway, it's just build so by the french. Unfortunately, the game does not support "normal" rail trains to go into maglev or monorail tracks, even with new graphics. Perhaps some time in the future, but not currently

The option would be to make all other trains electric, atleast codewise, and all "high speed" trains be diesel trains, atlest codewise. That way the high speed trains would be able to go on their own tracks, (the unelectrified ones), while all other trains would require the phantographed rails, as well as the HST's could go on the " normal tracks", but usually at a lower speed.

How does the Japan set do that then?
I seem to recall that they have un-electrified, electrified AND Shinkansen tracks?
You could do the same here.
Un-electrified, electrified, metro and high-speed tracks.

If you do that, you can't have the high speed trains running on regular tracks where necessary. I get it.

You could try and make it so I needs a special way point (maybe looks like camers or a sensor box) on the track and code it so it will not run on rails with out them in its path

that is what i also thought. I guess people only have to simlulate LVG's for themselves :) The elrails are 10x the cost of normal ones anyway :=)

Meh, whatever, it did say that the TVG v150 ran on standard electified railway with out much modifycation, all they did as far as I know is adjust the catanary a bit to increase its critical level.
Well I do know it will take some time to make the sprites but just to let you konw, the TVG v150 was actually a pair of modified TGV Duplex's.
Also i do think that at least a max of 3 or 5 PAX-MU (60Passengers Since its Duplex Style) or MAIL-MU carriges should be aloud and no more to make it more like a high speed commuter train (that costs lots unless you use it properly)

Openttd problem:

Intercity 125, Koploper, TGV etc :

i can only build the head-engines, and if i try inserting ANY wagon it comes with 'Use PAX/Express-MU wagons'

i tried every single wagon available @ 1990 but none will be accepted in that, anyone has a solution for that? or know how to solve this problem??? and/or where the freaking PAX wagons are?

this is Openttd, but all the designers are TTPatch so i posted it here

Try removing the UKRS set, which I think I see there. Maybe that'll fix it.
In theory, the PAX coaches should appear right above the "regular" coaches.

yeah that fixxes a part of it, however i do lack some of the lovely early-years steam engines i want to use, is there any way to combine the sets without the PAX prolem???
