there is definetly something wrong with that train. it happens every time and on two different pc's. I even made a test 'loop' after reading your post with 3 signals and two of those loco's. once once passes a light, said light NEVER changes again. removing the light and replaceing it would normally cause them to reset, until the train passes again and it repeats. Yet when i use one us p-5a with any other locomotive in the same test loop. Both trains run flawlessly

I dunno what is, and I don't think anyone can put their finger on it, but something is definitely off with the P-5A.
it got to the point in one game where I had to replace them with GG-1s, and that solved all my problems.

I'll look into it since I'm taking a break from New Vegas today and playing the "altoona" map. I cant build those quite yet. Im still in 1920's. Once I can, I'll run a few of those past Harrisburg to see what happens.

Odd that it took this long to report a bug since it was a primary motive power in "The Serpent" in the electric era.

As lego said, a vehicle has no code that should effect a signal other then the length and object type/class. The object is at long as it is coupler to coupler. As I recall, that loco is a 3 unit MU.

If you are playing an older map that had the original Single unit P-5a saved in it and tossed the MU version into you objdata folder, it might screw the scenario.

PS. i belive the GG1 and the EP-2 share the same code as the P5-a. Only the sprites are swapped out and length changed. If this is the case, then all three should be broken?

the P-5a was had its own beta program that was pretty rigoroius with a lot of testers before release due to it's 3 bogie funkyness. http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=738920#p738920

Testing all three beside each other showed that only the P5a is broken.

hmm.. i still have not looked at it. The hollidays sort of screwed up my week.

That and Robo's new map got my attention when it was pointed out to me. Lego sent me a copy with all the Serpent mods and the Container mod in it and set to 1970's ATSF with the LJS ATSF pack. Quite intresting.

I am rather impressed all around with all the details and hard work they did. I think that group of 4 should release the combined product.

After today, I'll have a few days to play around with lomo.

That map is now rolled back to 1930 and needed some updates. I guess we never had an ATSF hopper?
The beta testers all asked for these...

Plastik, just thought that you should consider adding some of the highspeed passenger trains that will be running down in Florida.

Working on it. AMI is undergoing a total face lift. You can get them manually for now...

Something really funky with it... running 2 does kill the signal. Running a full train the signal is normal buuuut... then it is popping off the track when it unloads in a train

Whats even funnier. Both Zimmlock and I used hundreds of them in our serpent games with no issues. Possible corruption since then? who knows.. I'll look into it.

OK...

I took a long hard look at the P-5a... The GG1 is definitely using the same code.

I changed a bit of math inside the XML to try again. it is possible the end was inside the middle.. almost like it was inside out.

It is posted on the update page mirror. just go to the link in the post above. it pushes you to the backup server.

Let me know if this fixed it.

would I be rude to ask for an update on a fair chunk of the SD40-2s?
