Wouldn't the teachers be happy to see a GRF file??? :D

Thanks for your support. Let me know, when you are ready.

What exact problem do you have with freight cars?
I'm not offering to help, I'm afraid, but I found encoding wagons easier than engines because there are fewer overrides and so on to worry about.

The problem is that I have got many sprites, and no one to put them ingame, 'cause I don't know coding at all.

There's a new guy named Eddie (or something like that) who is learning how to code. Maybe he'll give you a hand.

I thought that I could get some professionals
Seems like the release of complete CSDset is pretty low on the priority list :(

Well, no offense, but yes it is, because it is one of the newer sets, and there are VERY few coders, and they are all occupied. The Japan set is the oldest unreleased set, and it has the same problem even. If you need a coder, you kind of have to train your own, or accept someone who wants to learn. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for Oracle, and that will NOT be anytime soon.

I could have a go now that I (sort of) know how it works. I guess it would be easier to start with the cargo set though, since I guess that would be less complex?

That's true. No more "new-livery-every-ten-years".
Would you be willing to help me?

I'm willing to try ;)

I can't guarantee how much time I can spend on it, but I'll make a start. PM me some details if you like.

Cornelius, I suggest copying, pasting and modifying large elements of the US Set NFO to get you started - if you know what happens there then it should be quite straightforward to modify.

Thanks to the coding skills of Cornelius, the development of CSD Cargoset has been started.

Right now we are working on Gbgs (Closed Van) - lower rail: Old placement style (using MB's cargoset) - top rail: New style (freshly coded)

the engine is ES 499.o

Which climate will you use? I suppose not Tropic, but will it be Arctic, Temperate, or both?

Are you going to try to make any changes to the buildings or industry graphics?

I hope you add a list of proper town names to the GRF file.

Climates: Both CSDset and CSD Cargoset will ba available in Temperate and Arctic

When The trains are finished, we (me and Petr Vanek) were planning to do Czech road vehicles, and I will probably be helping other europaen sets, when they start working on their local cargosets. So thinking about new industries, it it is too far ahead... or, actually, I was thinking about replacing the printing works (in temperate) with a cement mine, because cement is a very often transported type of goods, here in the czech rep, and we also have some vehicles designed to transport cement, which I would like to use in the set

Town names:I probably won't, but I think that somebody will, as there are some czechs working in the OpenTTD section, and they should have the town-list finished already

There's already a Soviet-bloc bus set around, wouldn't that be vehicles used in Czechoslovakia before 1989? You could use that.

I think it would be odd to have all Czech vehicles, with the silly game German or whatever names. Czech names would add to it a great deal, even if we cannot actually pronounce them. :P So I hope your friends do make the list and GRF it.

And for those, who are interested, the Gbgs is now available to try-out:

(win version only)

use "graphics" cheat to import into an existing game, Newgraphics status window caused the game to crash. And you must buil a new train to get the corect sprite placement.

Made by Zoom. Some of the vehicles yes, some not. Note that Czechoslovakia was totally independet from the Soviet Union until 1948.

Gbgs is almost finished, still working on resizing and finishing existing graphics. Ipphps reefer is my priority right now, creenshot comes from 1st testing.

The cargoset is started consuming too much of my time, but with such a perfectionist I am, most of it is just one revision after another of the same vagon. Is somebody interested to help with the project? I do not need a Graphic Artist, I'd prefer somebody who can't draw nor code (not to waste precious human resources), but who could could make suggestions: what looks good and what looks strange (make the roof darker) and so on...

ICQ is wellcome. (but note that im am in the czech rep (central europe), so somebody from europe would be the best, 'cause there is a pretty small time-zone-gap)
