Wallyweb Productions *The Nars Valley Project*

Post by wallyweb »

The Winterlude firewood service #0244 would be replaced with #0233, an EMD GP60 hauling 40' boxcars.

Due to high productivity, truck service at Forest #1 would be replaced by rail, #3333, an EMD GP60 hauling flatcars with the truck service being moved to Forest #2.

A pair of GE Evolutions were put into service as #3437 hauling a mixed load of lumber down to Summerville Factory.

Then I'll never get any cleaning done and you'll have to sit in a seat that is sticky with spilled pop, stale chewing gum, melted chocolate and whatever else gets dropped on it in the dark.

Thank you marco. :D

Unfortunately, the crew has run into some technical problems and will have to move on from Nars. We are working on a suitable extrication plan to get our crew out of there relatively unscathed. Please stay tuned for news from the front.

Due to engineering issues, we could not provide modern rail equipment as promised. The Local Authorities were furious. The citizens rebelled. We had to leave and leave fast! We brought the starship down to the newly built spaceport and had just started loading all our records and sensitive equipment when they attacked. We were cut off from the spaceport and had to use the helicopters to evacuate the remaining personnel.

Mr.Web: Where's GI Joe?
GI Joe: Here Sir!
Mr.Web: Is everybody out?
GI Joe: Yes Sir! The helicopter's waiting for us and then that's it.
Mr.Web: Did you set anything up to hold them off until we're gone?
GI Joe: Yes Sir! We loaded the pop machines in the lobby with Cola Grenadine, if you get what I mean.
Mr.Web: You put explosives in all the pop cans?
GI Joe: No Sir! Me and Smitty took all the cans and tossed them down a flight of stairs and then we put 'em back in the pop machines.
Mr.Web: You what? How will that hold them off?
GI Joe: Well Sir, when they break into the lobby all thirsty from the battle, they'll see the pop machines and start helping themselves.
Mr.Web: So? What'll that do?
GI Joe: When they pull the tabs ... WHOOSH! ... Sticky time!
Mr.Web: You're a mean mean man GI Joe! I love it! Now lets bug out!

Credits roll ... Crowd leaves the cinema ...

THE END

CanSet Project 0.3a - The Sequel

Post by wallyweb »

Our story begins ...

The demo takes you into a fully developed game in progress as of January 1, 1974. The question is what do you do now? You can let it run itself with autorenew and autoreplace looking after your upgrades. That can be a little tedious, but if you are into watching Windows Defrag sorting out your hard drive in full screen mode, then go for it. For those of you looking for a little more action out of life, roll up your sleeves and get to work managing the railroad. There's a lot of new equipment available but many of the livery refits won't happen until their time has come. Those stations are full of passengers wanting service. Extra trains may be in order. Can you squeeze them in without creating havoc at the junctions? Not all of the cities benefit from food and goods deliveries. How about looking after them? Did we forget to service the banks and move their valuables? Oops! Maybe you can arrange some transportation. And what about those cities? My, how they have grown. Talk about your urban sprawl! What do you think? More trams? Go ahead. Build them! There's money to be made. Here's your chance to get filthy rich. Please feel free, during the intermissions, to post the occasional png format screenshot of your solutions and suggestions. Or, if you prefer, you can do it in your own screenshot thread. I will be playing the game out right here in living colour so let's compare notes. So, now, onto the movie ...
