Did you have any luck with this? The ticket selling appeared to be a little bit of a poostorm. Surge charging and all sorts.
I did! I had to pay the surge pricing, but I think price did not matter in this case. My wife Louise has been waiting for this moment for 15 years, and now it is happening.

We will attend the Wembley London show on 30th July. I think we may have paid about £450 per ticket which is... Well, that's money could have spent on something else. But it will be, as Liam would say, biblical.

Hey, if you have the money you might as well spend it on nice things for you and the wife, no?

Happy to hear you managed to get tickets. I know a few who were left disappointed by the over-the-top pricing, and re-evaluated how much they wanted to see Oasis.

I am indeed trying to convince myself that money is best spent on stuff you enjoy! With interest rates declining, my money will stretch further every month anyway!

Ah, tech support. How i hate doing it, but needs must for the sake of £££.

Not even funny how many times I've come across businesses with what we can assume is fairly fat wallets still using XP or lower operating system, because they didn't wanna pay for someone to update their software for modern stuff. Then act surprised when it starts collapsing in on itself and its hard to find replacement hardware that is compatible with stuff ¬_¬

Well, I've worked Customer Service now since 2011. I love it, actually! I'm currently at a digital postal service company, we process your government letters and private company letters for you and upload them digitally in an app, so you don't need to get physical copies.

How long has it been with that one now? I'm sure you had it back when I first joined!

Absolutely unthinkable. It will tear a hole in the very fabric of space & time!

Exactly! :D

Also had the pleasure of meeting Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea, Catherine Tate, Mark Williams, and the Boys from the Dwarf (well, Chris, Craig and Danny, sadly Robert couldn't make it). And attended panels with most of the above, plus Simon Pegg, and an assortment of folk from Supernatural. A most fun (if expensive) weekend.

Hard drives have gotten small, y'all. I bought a 2 TB SSD NVMe and it was basically a thumbdrive. I still think of hard drives as those 3.5 inch by 6 inch trays.

haha too true.

I've only recently started buying NVMe drives, but they're so much faster than SATA SSDs I've used before. Mine is only a 1TB one i use for games in my main rig, hurray for only playing a small array of games that genuinely benefit from NVMe loading speeds.
I still also use a big batch of traditional hard drives in my NAS machine, because honestly even 4K video can be read at 5400RPM speed they have I use. So it still works cheaply for my PLEX machine that lots of friends have access to (and myself as well of course).

Yeah, this one was discounted so I went for one with a "heatsink" even though I don't necessarily know if I needed to. It came out to about £125 for 2TB which I feel is fine for the speed it gives me.

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

Well, it was, it's not bad now actually. We had a big old pile of snow, but it melted enough to let me get our Christmas lights out yesterday. :D Every year for the past few years now we seem to have made a post-Christmas trip to one of our local shops to buy discounted lights for next Christmas... I'll have to take a photo once it's dark again.

Maybe I should resurrect the TT-Forums winter theme. :D

Do you remember the arguments this used to cause? And also the creeping snow as your cache refreshed, so you'd get the logo in snow first, then the mental text colouring, and finally the background.

Shades on til January 6th!

Well well well, Dave Worley! Good to see you back. :)

Alas, you're probably safe from the theme, as time is not on my side right now, unless anyone else wants to volunteer to recode it!
