with the present 'most zoomed in' being the new 'most zoomed out' this zoom level would take about the entire screen to have the airport on....
Do you mean that it will be impossible to zoom out as much as we can today? It doesn't sound right to me.

I asume we will still be able to zoom out more, and the graphics engine will just render every x pixel of a graphic...... but there are 3 sizes that need to be pre rendered (i think)

I added the link to the main
GFX page; do you think it should be featured more prominently?

hmm, i think it should be clearer.
Ideally (in my mind) there would be four blantent big buttons along the top...1 for the enhansed graphics, 1 for textures, and 1 for models, and one for help/tutorials
Everything in there (to do with enhansed graphics) could then be on the sub pages.
The easier to find stuff the better...
<edit> Heres 4 big buttons... If these are along the top, then the sub pages of each could be listed inside each page, and/or underneath this (how it is at present)...

Cool. Could you make several screenshots from different angles to use them in TTDPatch?

Ben_Robbins_ wrote:Yeah, im awair the problem of sizeing isnt yet resolved, but if you go large, then small is posible, but if you go small, then large is not...although if small is correct it would be disapointing to see the work not used for all its worth.
The JCB is W.I.P by the way...
The bobcat is '
http://tt-forums.net/files/bobcat_373.jpg ' according to bio's database
yep very true:)
btw i think i redo the train depot, i got a new idea for the whole picture
and can someone give me a link for over the shoulder session for multiple materials (i cant figure it out) (textures as well)

George: Its not finished yet, but when ive done it, ill render all the angles... woultdnt you want it really tiny though?

That was me, although comparing it to Ben's front-end loader is giving me an inferiority complex!
Ben could I use your textures? I've tried creating my own from scratch, but I don't even know where/how to start. If you could post the blend of that front-end loader, I'll see if I can figure out how to apply it to my mesh.
On a general topic, we've now got for construction:
Bobcat
Front End loader
Crane
Big arm digger thingy (possible 2 types)
Any other requests? I was thinking a cement mixer (both truck and the man-portable size), and one of those trucks with the articulated arm that they use to pump the cement in to a given section of the construction. And a portaloo, can't have a contruction site without at least one of them

This is what I mean by a cement pump, they seem pretty universal at construction sites:

It would be nice to have them rather big, and then everyone could scale them to the size, he requires, depending on the building, it is used for.

that wouldn't be good, because they would all be off scale. They all need to be the same size and it needs to be in the correct scale.

i think that george is talking about the same, the vehicel remains the same, only the lenght of the pipes can change if the building is bigger, if they get REALLY BIG then the construction is build using cranes that lift concrete mix in the big hullthingy's....

I believe George would like to use the four direction views so he can make them into sprites for current TTD Graphics, and wants them large so he can differ the sizes on different sprites.

i think you cant make them real size, that would mean the construction vehicles would be the same size as the other vehicles in the game, and so if you just use the cement truck for instance than the whole road would be blocked for the construction of a 1x1 house...

yeah and in real life it is that way lolz, i live near the construction site and the road is sometimes blocked by a crane or a supply truck

can someone upload me a train (.blend) that i can compare my depot with?
Posted: 17 May 2006 12:35
by Born Acorn
Here, have a whole page full.
Remember to keep the depot original looking, for that original TTD Feel.

that is just why im remodeling it, but the wiki doesn't have the .blend files @ scale....

by Born Acorn
Nobody has really uploaded blend files. Someone should. If an artist got busy with real life and left the project, those models would be wasted, as there is no hard copy for us. Especially if the artists Hard Drive explodes or something.
