That's exactly what people shouldn't do, since you aren't able to fix anything that's wrong with CargoDist anyway, that is what fonso so kindly does for us.

Well, i guess, but since its patched with two patches, they might not work 100%

The point was that you wouldn't be able to fix anything, so they really should just contact the patchmakers or this thread.

Hmm,

Alain could not program neither and look where he got ...
The moment NekoMaster merged the two patches it became his patchpack and so bugreports should go to his thread.
He then should try to figure out where the bug comes from.

Sorry for the offtopic fonso.
I hope the next post is a bugreport ...

ps:
petert give a person the change to grow, nobody is born a programmer.
NekoMaster, the best place to advertise is your signature ...

Playing with my patchpack? Ask questions on usage and report bugs in the correct thread first, please.
All included patches have been modified and are no longer 100% original.

Is it me or was found a town placed in trunk and then taken out again? I'm running petert's r18972 binary and I can't seem to find the found a town option.

Wasila: You have to enable it at Advanced settings -> Economy -> Towns -> Founding towns in game. It is forbidden by default.

@ John,

First I have to state that I am completely new to terminal and how it works.

I started the installation after downloading the xCode from ADC. and started as in the guide with the selfupdate (not that this was necessary, because every thing was just downloaded), just to see if everything worked. I got the port not found error. Probably because the terminal is by default in the users map, so i switch to the total hard-disk map. Then I give in the sudo install libpng command and got the error: no lib found. Probably I need to download something from libpng before i can install this however, because this is not stated in the wiki guide I did not download anything and I really do not know what to download.

Sorry I am still a complete noob in this.

Nope, your screwed, do it all over again :|
Cargodist has too many extra things that trunk and stables doesn't, so saves and scenarios wont work due to the extra code (stables and trunk will probably just say it either can't load it or its corrupt)

I see the problem... but surely there are no physical differences in a blank scenario (not a save game) between CargoDist and trunk? I'm trying my best not to have to start again...

A scenario is saved exactly the same as a savegame. Even if there is no extra data in it, at least the savegame version will be higher then in trunk, so it won't load out of the box. With some coding it's possible to work around that, but I have no idea how much work that is and I doubt anyone is going to do the work just so you can load your scenario.

also changing the code for a patch save game will probably break something unless its removed completely or you'll get crashes

I recently installed MSVC (Full edition) which features a x64 compiler. Can people post here if they are on a 64-bit system and would like a 64-bit build of CargoDist?

That was irrelevant to my question, I don't see why you quoted me.

Yes, I've seen some builds of CargoDist and IS together. I think SpComb had a build in his repo, but I don't have the link anymore.

Go to the first post and you will find a link to the version of openttd and also where you can download the patch (.diff) file which you patch against the nightly its meant for and then bulid it.
