I noticed that someone deleted one of the 1*1 churches. They look basically the same, except the thing on top of the spire. So is it two different churches, or is it just a graphical error on the first one?

i'd say a error in the first one

I really think it's a very good idea to replicate the old buildings with much more detail. That way the ottd feel will be preserved, and that's the most important. Then everyone can play the game they know and love so much with even more detail! All buildings looking different because they are not based on an old one at all should be made optional, like a graphics-add-on.

Cheers for the feedback...glad to see you like them

Crazy Vaclav: I didnt do it. On another note, on the same topic. I cant find the 3 following buildings on there, and the building on the right exsists twice next to itself (about 45% of the way down the main gfx page)

<edit> AlienDNA: I strongly agree there...

The colours are coded to randomly change.

I noticed in this thread there are a lot of very nice graphics being created, and some of the buildings look superb, but is anyone taking into account the fact that in the graphics we use at the moment, buildings don't just pop into existance, there are actually a couple of sconstruction stages to indicate that a town is growing. How many graphic designers have made construction stages for their buildings? Or is the plan to just have a couple of generic construction images for all buildings?

Not to give anyone any more work, because you're all doing a great job as is, I'd just like to see towns grow instead of just appear.

Well, you could do it the same way C&C generals and SimCity 4 do it. The building is placed under the ground and moves up slowly, so you first see the top of the buidling and new floors are added underneath it. It's not very realistic, but you wouldn't need construction stages for each buildings (which isn't only much work, it also has some disadvantages since it's build up from 'steps', if you know what I mean).

That's a good idea, which i think could be improved by having scaffolding on the outside, to hide the building sticking half out of the ground. For bigger buildings there could be a crane as well.

tenpoints2k5: The same thourght has been going threw my head, and i have made some construction graphics for some things. The thing that stopped/puzzled me was where these buildings and everything needed to build them should come from. I dont think coming out the ground like a misile lauch would look to great though. I considering doing it, so that maybe The first piece imerges from nothing, and everything else should come from that....Could look kinda funny seeing a skyskraper imerge from a small flat pakced shed.

<edit> Cant seem to get .gif to work, but for parts of the farm ive done many stages... heres just some comparison thing i have lieing around at present.
