Its not so bad... I have had 2 159s with a 4MT at each end before - they were 6 Mk3s, but the MTs kept breaking down.

I'm going for a wolsztyn style feel at the southern end of the network, with old loco's and more modern stock...
If you think that's odd the HST you see on the last pic is on a diagram which used to be an A4 with mk 3's - which goes suprisingly well!
I also still have a stirling single working on a heritage route

The company decided to run a Class 52-hauled railtour. This was named the 'Spaghetti Western' as some of the junctions it was about to visit such as the one here were becoming very over-complicated. OK, I'll close the door on my way out...

Thank you Plastikman and andel, glad you liked them!
More to come soon when I've got a bit more time - now that I've sorted out the train crash I just had, my lovely 325s collided at Currywood; when will I learn not to alter signalling while the trains are running?

When the poor innocent sprites rise up and campaign against you?

I just finished the 100 Year Challenge for the North America with Dallas and Beaumont in the corner of it.
Heres a picture of it. I've been working on it all day, and I'm quite impressed with how much I've made the cities grow. They were all originally below 700 or so people at the start of the scenario, and in 70 years, I've got them all to Metropolises about 20,000 people.
I've got 23 trains, 14 buses, 0 trucks, 7 trams, 7 planes, 1 helicopter and 2 hovercrafts.
No money cheats were used.

Well, I survived the protests from passengers worried about potential crashes. A quick visit from 'the management' soon smoothed things over.
Anyway, one last shot from this game of the expanded approaches to Currywood station. The West Yorkshire Metro 158 at the bottom is one of my new services.
Stay tuned for a new game coming up soon...

Having re-started my scenario:
East Riding of Yorkshire 1940 with the BR pack I've been having much more fun than with the standard trains!

Wow, that's quite something, Zimmlock!
Right, here's the start of my new game. I decided to have another go at andel's Midlands Scenario. I have got my old save game from 2006 so I could have continued it but I wanted all the newer BR Set trains in there so I decided to start again.
So just one shot for now, of Stockport station with a Virgin train arriving from Manchester Piccadilly and a 101 local train heading the other way. I know starting with passenger trains doesn't make a lot of sense economically but passenger trains are always my favourites in any train games (and I'm a stubborn so-and-so, so I always start that way!

The one annoying thing I find is that the 1st Gen DMUs, including the 101, but especially the ones I use the most, the 104s, accelerate really slowly. I usually include the arriva 142s which have got into date as 1958 (instead of 85!) as they accelerate fast enough to not be much of a problem for the HSTs that end up following as the slower 142 speed is made up with faster acceleration, couple that with the 2 platform and 2 through track stations I use gets around the problem neatly!

These screenies have been taken from my
Arctic Ocean 1945 Scenario. This version has no mods, but I'm in the process of testing a version with mods including AmTrak trains and Moscow Metro trains.

True, and also in my case I'm always impatient waiting for the 2nd generation ones because I know those a lot better. Whilst I can just about remember trains in the 70s and 80s, I never took much notice in those days despite living next to the WCML! But I do seem to remember some 1st generation DMUs on the Morecambe branch well into the 90s.
Right, here's a couple more and not a DMU in sight this time, unusually for me!
(1) Stockport station again with new freight-only line crossing on a viaduct. A Class 37-hauled Transpennine train waits for a Class 20-hauled empty grain train to pass the junction. All those trees just up there are my community orchard planted to make the environment more pleasant for the passengers. (if you believe that...)
(2) A later shot towards the other end of this Transpennine train's run from Manchester to Sheffield, it's being held up again by another of those pesky grain trains! I'm quite pleased how I've got the two 37s positioned like that - I always make a point when I'm making screenies of taking shots of what I'm playing (rather than playing to make shots) so I sometimes wait quite a while for opportunities like this.

Nice screenies
Thanks to Plastikman i now know how to make a "video" clip from Locomotion, the quality is not like a screenshot but its fun.
This is a link to my first attempt:
http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=V1e_mU7q4i0
The sound is the sound of my game, its a little hollow, but thats because it was recorded with a microphone.
When that first worked, i recorded a journey from Sleepstone to Broomworth, that takes 18 minutes on the Peninsular World map with 5 stops in between.
Have fun

In the first post we see a EWS class 66 with some empty ballast wagons, following the newbuild of a suburban commuter line

- new track.png (26.27 KiB) Viewed 2625 times
In the second, we see the new station with a class 376 testing the facilities. The class 66 is just about the leave, following the completion of the new track work. A class 376 is traversing the newly built depot facilities just outside the station.
Finally, we see the new depot dedicated to these 376s. There will eventually be 8 class 376s based here, subject to exceptance from the manufacturer. You can also see two translator vehicles sat in the headshunt from the delivery from the factory. The Class 66 that delivered them has long since left.

Nice trains, I love the depot too.
Just time for a quick one here, my newly-built Birmingham New Street with its first train departing. I won't mention the nearby crash I just had. Oooops I just did.
