it looks good!
i thought the reailings looked a bit high but i calculated they r 1m tall approxiamtelly (if this is 1x1 building)
I have an idea, mb someone should make a small person based on a 12.5mx12.5m tile and then u all use it to check that the proportions are correct (unless u use proper distances when u construct the buildings rather that slump pieces on top of eachother as i would do if i could use blender!)
He/she should be .14 of a tiles length in height (=1.75m tall)
but that building looks good, no go make an originalone!! why do u ahve to copy !! (well nostalgia reasons mb, so when u play u say hey i remember this one!!)

Absolutely awesome! Someone on the forum posted pic of this building, but I don't recall in which topic

Costas... I agree totally on the railings, but i have a little guy in there who is 5'10'' (what ever that is in meters), who seemed to fit them... it came to a high up waste hieght...i might just lower it anyway to make them less obvious.
A person, a car, a window and a door, i think would be good things to have for everyone to reference, as nearly everything in a building is based around them. If there right, the rest should be right.
Plenty of room for new designs later on, i just want to replicate origianl ones at the moment. and on ones like this i find copying harder than being origianl. more of a challange.
Although Chris Sawyer (or whoever did origianl graphics) may have based/been influenced by those buildings, personally i think it would be better to try and replicate the games graphics, rather than replicate there influences. Those buildings mean nothing to most people.
I attached a better render of 3 untextured buildings just for the hell of it.

It looks really good. Isn't that building supposed to be japanese? I thought I read that somewhere.

hey guys i love all these buildings!!
mb u keep the original 3d file safe and give it to transport empire in a few years when they r ready and need beautifull 3d vehicles and buildings and such!!!! then u too can marvel at ur creations at full 3d!!!
oh and i agree with ben we need a "bank" of things ppl can put in their compositions rather than reinventing the wheel. like cars and chairs some 3d trees

Almost all the buildings are based on ones from, or around Glasgow, in Scotland. Chris Sawyer lives there, so he took inspiration. One building is also Chris Sawyer's house, and another is Simon Fosters' fathers' house.

From looking at his site it seems to be 'seeking influence' rather than copying of buildings
<Edit> This is Ottis, he likes walks in the park, and romantic dinners. Unfortuantly he has only 1x1 square to live on, a bike and a giant ruler to check stuff out with...

The scale of those deck-chairs on the third buildings compared to windows of the other two are kinda messed. Otherwise, your buildings are more then just excellent, lovely work!

They look more to be large recliners than deckchairs, in which Ottis can lie down on one by the pool, then go next door to the office building and look from a normal sized window!

awesome modelling!
I'm missing a small 'no diving' sign at the hotel pool though... it can't be very deep with a functional floor right under it

These graphics are absolutely great! However, I think hotel windows are bigger than other buildings' windows, which creates some kind of confusion...

Hey guys, since the newstations work on OTTD now (woohoo!!!), we can make pretty cool stations now. With seperate station buildings and stuff. Maybe I'm going to make Groningen Central some day soon. It's the most beautiful station I've ever seen in my life.

Isn't that like the same style as Amsterdam Centraal? Or am I complete wrong now?

Yes they're pretty much the same style, if I remember it correctly. But in my oppinion Groningen Centraal is much prettier.

This building is mighty strange...but ive modeeled it to be like the origianl at present... To Justify its instabilty; round the back is 1 solid main section on wich all the containment blocks connect two, and in reality i see it as a designers attempt to show the stresses on a sterdy structure...so i made the base to look quite solid in contrast.
It would be easy now to remove/move some of the sections around to make it way more stable...but different people would maybe prefer it differently, with alikeness to the original not being as inportant to some.
So...feedback on this one is really needed, to deside what to do to this excentric composition...
looks great!
i got nothing to complain about

Korenn: I got Ottis right onto it...The health and safety of all the many charactors in transport tycoon is of key inportance... Hopefully they will be able to see that the sign is in relation to the swimming pool, not the building...
The deck chairs are now realistic size..checked out by by ottis himself. The windows on the hotel are ment to be extreamly large...its quite a grand hotel i figured from its enterence, so its windows would be almost to the floor, and there would be quite high victorian style ceilings inside....
Now everything can be ergonomically tested before making its way into a set...
That is a cool station...theres a load of modeeling to do on some of that brickwork...
