Perhaps everyone should be made aware of this, but it's safest to use the same revision this patch is made for, because of CargoDist - the trunk-cargodist patch I've used is applied against the same trunk revision it's made for, and CargoDist, as far as I can tell, complains loudly when it's on the wrong revision.

Hello everyone.
You can find the latest patch, binary, and wiki pages at the Google Code page for GPP. You can check it out here (
http://code.google.com/p/ppfottd). I'm off to bed now.

Have fun. Please make sure that you read all the wiki pages, some are outdated (the readme), but some of them I just created. They include some important info.

At some point, I'll cobble together a page that links to a page describing each of the patched included, since some of them aren't entirely clear.
And this time, I'll make sure they're credited to the right person/people, with links to the thread/flyspray task if I can find them.
I meant to do that last time, but real life, that irritating thorn in everyone's side, got in the way.

Can you help me with something, Gremnon? I've patch the source, moved it into a folder called "ppfottd" (the Google Code page checkout) and tried to commit it. I can only upload the files in the main directory, eg svnup.sh, makefile, so on. When trying to upload the rest of them, I get the error "Authorization Failed". Any thoughts on this?
Peter

I honestly have no idea how Google's commit/checkout works. Back when I was trying to help maintain CIV I tried to understand it, and got lost.
If you're doing it on Ubuntu though, my only ideas are firstly to try with -R or -r (Best to check using -h or --help for whichever command you're using first though) which should mean recursive.
The other is to sudo it, which usually gets around permission errors.
My guess is though, that there's something screwy with the GC servers that I don't understand.

Sorry for the maybe stupid question, but since I installed your last pack (thanks btw, much appreciated) I have a problem with my waypoints. When I build them next to each other on adjacent tracks, they both get the same name, meaning I cannot use them to guide the trains to the correct destination or station platform. Is this an option I can disable, can anybody help me with this?

That has nothing to do with this patchpack, it has been changed in trunk (and so will be changed in 0.8 ). To make the waypoints separate hold ctrl while you build the second waypoint tile. Basically the same as when you want to build two stations next to eachother.

Ah thanks didn't know that! Much appreciated.

Learn something new everyday.
I just thought it'd be worth people knowing that with the recent burst of updates on some patches, and xmas a week away, You'll have to wait until either just before, or not long after, new year before I make a new build.
Last minute xmas shopping is my excuse.

Hey, whats the traffic light grf for? I tried adding it to my newgrf list in openttd (your latest patch pack) and it wouldn't show in the game and complained that it was a invalid grf or something when I added it manually

The traffic light GRF is no longer needed. It used to be a requirement so the Traffic Lights patch would work, but that patch has since been removed.

Aw, i wish you could put it back in. The traffic light patch is probably too old right?

That, and a number of conflicts with other patches. At some point, I'll run it alongside the others again, and if it has less problems, then I might include it again.
To be honest, unless used in conjunction with the town traffic AIs, there isn't really all that much use to it.
On the up side (for some) with an update to Daylength, I may well be including it too. We'll see how things run with it too.

And I wish he didn't. Running a patch with an extra GRF will only cause more "xxx.grf doesn't load! What do I do?" posts.

TBH, I don't see much use to it except to be a pain. Yes, it looks nice, and adds a bit of realism, but that's about it. Turn on Town Cars or StreetTraffic AIs, and you get random traffic - maybe sometimes then it's not so bad. But in most games? I don't think there's a reason for it.
Plus petert is right on the GRF front.
I may reconsider and add it, but the chances are, it won't be.

I like the trafic lights patch. Like Gremnon said, it adds a little bit of realism, and i think eye candy to. It's kinda weird to see at a crossroad vehicles passing one through other like ghosts

. But if this patch creates problems or it's difficul to implement with the others, i think it s right not included it.

I'll test it against my current experimental build.
I don't guarantee anything though.
If you'd like to help it's chances, helping bump it to a more recent trunk version might, but that doesn't remove the grf problem - unless it can be done without a grf, but I doubt it.

Hmm< i would prefer the daylength patch cause the game just goes by too fast. it took almost a week for a local bus to do its route, where as here it takes only 30 min for the bus I take
