This is going to be such an awesome GRF, I cannot wait to play it. I'm especially excited with the news that it should work well with GRVTS, i'm not a fan of LV4!!

Found it. Cheers!

Now I'm looking forward to the "real thing"! :)

These are going to be brilliant when they're in the completed set! :P

looking really brilliant!

although I have a question about those two:
will there be a carriage behind them? Or else they wil be pretty useless...
what is the difference between those two? I can't see any graphical difference (apart the size of the picture and frame 1)... Maybe it's only the stats that change?

To me, it looks like the nose in the second batch of sprites is longer.

There will be a trailer, refittable to pretty much all cargoes.

The Super Speedytrac is an upgrade to the Speedytrac. It has a longer nose and larger rear wheels, and will be faster and more powerful.

Updated sprites for large mining truck. This was the first complete TT sprite I drew, and it needed some improvements. The updated version now looks like a smaller truck, and is more in scale with other vehicles.

I've also drawn the complete chassis without the body. This is needed for a different type of mining truck, which I'll draw next.

Vehicles in this set will generally only be refittable to cargoes they would carry in RL; in the case of the mining truck that could include a tanker body for water and fuel (they are used this way in mines). Should I do a tanker version?

Looking good! I am afraid I am away for the next week, so no coding :( Keep up the good work though, I'll catch up when I get back!

Belly dump mining truck:

This will haul around 120t - twice the capacity of the four wheel truck, but with the same horsepower, so perhaps a bit slower to accelerate and climb hills (if that's possible with RV code).
EDIT: teaser...

Isn't it pretty small in scale for so much cargo now?

Yes, you're right. Once I have a test grf from Zephyris, I might increase the size of the trailer sprite, or reduce the capacity.

I can't scale some of these trucks as large as I would like to because they have to share road tiles with other RVS. On the other hand I do want to make certain capacities available in the game.

There will always be points where gameplay beats RL so I may change nothing ;)

Heavy off-highway truck chassis, carries around 50t, available from 1960. Will be used as a dump truck; possibly also for other cargoes. Inspired by Mack M, Euclid and Oshkosh trucks.

Here is a version with a bigger trailer sprite, which I think looks better, but if this causes clipping issues etc, then the smaller one will be used.

To me the mining truck seems right size! Why You think its start clipping in game?
Articulated mining truck would be awesome :)

1960s Off-Highway Belly Dump - capacity around 80t-100t

This belly dump trailer will also be used with bulldozers and wheeled tractors.

You should be fine as long as they're 28 pixels long or less in OpenTTD. I don't know about TTDPatch, but I think it's the same there too. You might be able to get away with more, but it probably won't look good if you're going to articulate them.

Ok, so we'll give it a go and see how it looks :)
