i had the same problem, but wasn't sure if plastik changed the intro date of them or not. i remember reading some where that their intro date was too early. i haven't had time to start a game in 1980's to see if they show up or not. if not them it's a bug.

started a game in the 1980's and the gantry's do show up and work normally, so the question for plastik is when is the intro date for them.

ERrr.... ummm .... 1975? I honestly forgot..

Those are modern style.. Maybe i should have made them 71 for the signal, but i would suspect those are probably from the 80's so i compromised.

An Older A-frame in black are on the way to fill in the gap.

In order i hate the most to make...

1 Signals!
2 Steamers (but now they are a lot easier with the new script i Made)
3 Signals
4 Passenger Trains. especially full named sets...
5 Signals.....

Now that we are on track (bad punn...) .. are people figuring out how to build them? make the 2 ends first as 1-way, put a 1 way crossbar up on the end (it will glow white when it is in place) then 2-way fillers.

It is not so obvious at first. after your first few it is not so hard. all though i have crashed a few trains trying to build them.. :|

I would suggest not going across to many tracks at once, Just for looks. maybe 4? 6 is really pushing it, but, they probably exist.

I am about ready to release the full version. I do have a suprise or 2 to add. Unfortunatly, it might take to long and i want this done and over with. maybe ill just make a map update in a few weeks.

PS. I Emailed Chip with an update and asked about aditional packs, keep your fingers crossed.

Ok, After a bit of screwing about,

We have one sided stations that work,

about the gantry,

i must be using a differant version then i released because I got them from the start (note date) and that is not a moded game...

i'll have to look into that. but.... i think 75' is reasoanble. if anyone can give me some sort of idea as to actual dates the modern style gantrys were made?

just looked up a little bit about the gantry
This change depended more on the availability of electricity than on any other factor, so light signals could not be generally used until after about 1920.
light signals are related to gantries so im guessing around 1920

EDIT: Semaphore gantries should be around since the start so gantries had to be around since the start and are you having trouble rotating the view in the game and the side of the station is on still

I meant the modern, not the classic A frame style.

Download Removed for now.. Beta done.

I'll put the final pack together today/this weekend.

It was held up by 1 sided stations, Rusty track with weeds, Concrete sleeper upgrade on mainlines, a few other Mods. .

low and behold i ran into a snag.

even though you can have 8 track mods in the game, only the first 3 will work. so, we lost all the new mods Except the single sided stations.

out of all of the mods, that seemed to be the most important. and out of the 3 i made, Only 1 will work at a time.

Technically, we can have 3 1-sided stations since there no overhead wires or 3rd rail in the scenario, but... if someone adds EMUS or an Acela to the game... ~ERROR~.. I'll just avoid that entirely... if you guys want to build your own, go for it! just don't post them...

#NOTE# This pack needs to be the last pack of all the US sets installed for now. If you install other sets of mine after this one, You will "downgrade" some of the engine sounds.

Some Tutorials

How To Build a Gantry Signal
How To Build a One Sided Station

Tell you what, I am still having some beta "issues".

Ok next beta is ready,

I might as well go full public with this !

This is a Beta Of the new style installers. and the one sided platforms
If it proves to be successful, All items in the US pack will be using similar Installers.
It is beta, something could possibly go wrong!
Install this Version at Your own risk!

This Has been tested on WIndows 98, XP, Vista, X64 (XP64)

it is still an unfinished pack but close to its final stages. The instructions for installing are ...

1 unzip (or just open it)
2 run the set up
3 you can only install in your LoMo folder it will do everything it can to avoid that. *see notes
4 It will try to update over the internet to get patches. let me know if there is a problem.
5 use the web installer (it should start on it's own) to install the UP pack and the Scenario *see notes
6 The web installer will launch small install scripts. based on your opinion, I can hide them so they are not visible, it just seemed handy at the time to see them.

******
note
******

even though it is installed to the Lomo folder, It dose not install it to you objdata folder, It installs it to a temp folder cluster called Chicago_locomotive_Works. inside here you will find the manual install if you fail auto install, plus all the read me's. You can also find the instructions on how to build the gantry signals here.

If You were a first stage beta tester, This setup will remove all the older beta files.

**********
Scenario Note!
**********

The scenario uses a modified Trackst.dat, it is recommended you back yours up first.
The installer SHOULD back your trackst.dat up automatically..... but!!!! i don't want to be responsible in case of an accident.
In some RARE cases, if you have modified road dats, this could cause a conflict. If you wish to install your own modified trackst.dat by hand.. well.. i am not here to support that :P you are on your own. the folder sub-structure should be logical for finding the files on your own.Look in Your locomotion/Chicago_Locomotive_Works\Objects\Scenery\Utah_Map_Mini_Pack folder for the Scenery bits and the Trackst.dat
it would be nice if you ran the map at least once as I had intended.
*********

Please report any errors

i'll post the updated beta for now.

There are two EXE's in the pack, You do need to install them both, I sepperated the Scenario/scenery pack from the Dekosoft UP Pack.

BETA 0.9.6

heh,

I found a bug and fixed it, I dont think anyone downloaded it and noticed it.

If you were upgrading from 0.9.5 and ran the provo installer before the UP installer, it said that the map you are trying to install was older then the one you already had. If you said ok, it would then tell you had the newest version after the webupdate (because it fixes itself at that point).

Ok, I'm going to try and install it. I've got Vista x64.

Anything I should know before I try this, or has it been tested already?

You should be fine, but if you can, pm me the log files when you are done.

Locomotion\Chicago_Locomotive_Works\Logs

EDIT.

Got them. Thanks.
Everything went perfect as far as install.

if it installed without bitching you attempting to downgrade your game, you obviously did not have the "bug".

the bug was in the installer, not the game files.

If you really wanted to see if you had the bugfix or not

Utah_Map_Mini_Pack_install_log.txt

Bugfix Activated! 1.0 is ok, Bypassing version check <<<<<<<< FIX

End Version check.

i just have to make sure i label the 1.0 pack as 1.0.0 internaly.

It did complain about wanting to install an older version. Anyway doesn't matter got the game version I like still I backup all files when installing in loco as a practice,(hate losing or screwing up a saved game with a new install)

Your old save games will be fine.

you just wont get the new stations untill you restart the secenario from the beginning.

Hopefully I'll get the hoppers enlarged for 1.0, and if i dont, I dont really care, not all hopper are the same size out there, adds a little variatry.

I am a bit sick of seeing "Armor Yellow" right now. I am working on some old equipment ATM.

The instaler is a bit hard to understand.
Can you please make one that is easier to understand?

I guess you don't follow what is going on around here, The clickteam one can not do what is needed anymore. it dose not support anything much past installing a bunch of files from one location to another. Perhaps if you installed the us set you might see the limitations of the clicktream pro installer that i had purchased and wish i never did. They hardly support their own product anymore.

One huge problem with it is that it cant back up stuff or run scripts during install so it is possible i could kill your mods/LoMo install or an improper set install. also with updates coming out semi regularly, there was a good chance you could "downgrade" your set on accident or miss an update.

This new installer is scripted C+ so it can do anything we need. I understand the 2 part process is not intuitive at first, but once the all the US sets are re-released it covers the issues and complaints i have received over the years.

As i said, this method is beta and might get scrapped..

OK that aside i want to release the full version,
how are the 1 sided stations?
do i scrap them or are people happy with how they work?

The one sided stations are good, i say keep em, but can you make a concrete version as well?
