@Skidd:
I guess there are people who need the Linux binaries, if you add them in your post, I can link them into the first post.

Where did the option for signal 8 go?

See the numbering scheme in the first post.
(The lower left image is left out, as it is the "disabled" state)

You used another numbering sheme on the previous page, you should change that as it causes some confusion.

Is there a way to edit a poll?

I think that you need to ask a moderator.

I would have added them this time, but during compilation I get an error.
The files command_queue.c and copy_paste_gui.c are missing.

Edit: Is this patch against clean source or previous patch?

Btw I belong also to the wrong voters (voted #7) count me to #4 .

I forgot to add those 2 files to svn... They got removed because i had to clean the source to build a version whith the bridge-branch included. (To convert the crossings savegame)

That's not how I meant it.
Paste fails if you try to paste maglev, without it being available to you.
By using the convert button, you may paste it as normal rail.
(This way you are able to use the crossing at all) (I admit I expressed it wrong ;))

Vote corrections:
4: +1
6: +1
7: -2

Today I tested the rail conversion, but there is a little bug. :o
The tunnels stay in their original rail type.

My SVN version: 5314

Thx for bugreport :)

Bridges&Depots stayed original too. Both fixed.

Currently I'm implementing the
-"Copy Road?"
-"Copy Rail?"
-"Copy only own Stuff?"
Buttons.

When this is done, I'll release a new version.

*lol* This brings "The Duke" back in my mind.

Ah, the GUI will grow further. So I think the GUI becomes to complex, so it should be cascaded.
Here 2 suggestions:
1st as slim gui
2nd as rectangle gui

@Frostregen: hope that won't be to much work for you :wink:

The 3 buttons are implemented and working. See Image.
(2 small glitches prevent me from releasing...)

@skidd13:
Hmm, the GUI cascading needs some thinking.
Maybe even 3 parts.

1. Copy - Paste
Most basic functionality.

2. Load - Save - Rotate - Mirror - Reverse Signals - Convert Track
Everything you need to load&save and work with templates.

3. Vacant Terrain - Bulldoze before Rebuild - Copy Road? - Copy Rail? - Copy Only Own?
Advanced finetuning not really needed by most people.

I dislike the idea of having seperated GUI's. I'll try to make them expandable. (I hope this doesn't get too hacky)

Do you think of such an GUI?

That looks better then move all into one menu and there it looks confusing

i noticed something goes wrong with the signals if you paste one layout with signals exact over the same layout. Caused by not enough money.
One way signals switch direction each time i paste the copied terrain.
And by pressing shift the estimated costs are wrong.

I also noticed that the game pauses if you load or save terrain templates. Dunno why, but it's not needed (IMO).

To prevent to much switching between the different GUI sizes there should be set some defaults set in the "configure patches"-"construction" menu.
like:

Code: Select all

================
copy/paste patch
================
default gui - simple/medium/complex
convert track - on/off
vacant terrain - on/off
bulldoze before rebuild - on/off
copy road - on/off
copy rail - on/off
copy only own - on/off
@Frostregen: Just an idea. Whats your opinion to this? Another Poll ;)?
