OK, it looks like we have some conclusions here.
1. We cannot tinker with the layouts of the industries, we are stuck with what we have. Maybe if it goes well we'll do a replacement for Temperate next time, but it's probably better to start with something simpler.
2. That being the case, it is impossible to get something perfect that will fit in the Toyland matrix. We just have to do the best we can.
3. Therefore, do we have any suggestions to change my chart that will make Toyland more accurately and reasonably represent the economy / geography of East Asia than it already does, or do we agree that the chart is the best it is likely to get given the constraints of Toyland, and so we should just start going with it?

I think that we should at least give it a try. It it doesn't get perfect, so what? We'll see soon enough.

Ok, can we start now?

Yes, let's start.
Whoever is drawing the industry graphics, if it is necessary to switch between industries in the same vector, go ahead, just let me know so I can change the chart.
Daid, I'm wondering, would it be easy to put a "filter" over the grass graphics so the grass look subtly different? I think maybe just a bit darker and just a bit bluer.
We can have some fun with the trees, for sure.

We can reuse some of tropic trees.

How can you say If you make something?

Just say it here
I'm working on the Grass textures.

And when you do something, post it here, and I'll grab it and put it on my site where everyone can see it all in one place. I'll also list who's working on what.

Scrap yard. What do you think about my grass?

I had just a pm with Owen. I asked him if it would be possible to use the industries in all the climats, like it is possible now to use the vehicles in all the climats via TTDalter. He said that it probably would be possible, he only needed to find the appropriate data. He has off course no time at the moment (exams) but if he has any, and he will be able to find the data, then the following might be possible.
Using the farm of the temperate climat in the toyclimat, we would actually be able to make terrased rice paddys by changing the sprites of the farmland, surrounding the farmhouse, into the desired rice paddy's.
We also would be able to use more appropriate industries for ower other wishes.

I like the scrapyard. I'm not sure about the dividing walls though - they look great around the outside, but dividing it up inside is odd. I doubt this can be fixed, right? So it's perhaps better not to have walls, just to have odd mounds of scrap.
Exactly how many tiles worth of graphic are you allowed for this? It looks like maybe four? If so then I think there should be maybe one bulldozer and one truck, and let them just repeat as they do. It looks a little crowded as it is.
Would it look right if there was a crane with a boom-arm and magnet holding junk?
I still think including at least one furnace would be good, because the cargo is not scrap, but steel, and it has to be melted somewhere.
I am adding you to the list as working on this industry, if that's OK.

WHOA, hold everything, this is big news! If we can use the industries from the other climates we need a quick rethink.
We could start working on the ride-paddy/terrace sprites on the assumption that we will get a farm to use, and Asian style farm buildings.
We should leave the scrapyard alone for now because we will want to combine Adam's scrapyard sprites with the existing steel mill graphic setup as a larger standalone building.
We could work on graphics for the soybean field and the Asian livestock ranch.
Since we don't have to lock ourselves into the existing industries it makes things a whole lot easier, and much better!
