Yeah, roofs are much better! :D You can try to make wheels in this way:
one pix height, and 3 pixs wide: black, gray, black. When on the track, you have feeling of rail wheels.

Could someone please tell me how to draw a hopper style wagon.

Best explanation is to look at how others did it. Go download some sets and decode them. I bet both the US set and the DB set contain hoppers. Be carefull not to edit and release copyrighted work, but you can look how others did it and learn from it. As for hoppers, i've always found it hard to draw them...

try 6-7 pix height, hopper 3 pix wide and then rear edge, like this:

I have made it shorter and also tried the | view. Here is my unfinished tanker. Please criticise me as much as needed.

The hopper wagon is too long, try halfing the length
The tanker's shading for the diagonal views looks weird, and the vertical view looks too flat

here is the shortened truck.

No. That is only the right format for the original graphics files.
The first byte needs to be a 4-byte pseudo sprite[0], then you need an action 8 and an action A.

If, on the other hand, you're trying to add a vehicle, as opposed to replacing sprites, just follow these directions.

[0] Don't worry about the data it needs to contain; NFORenum will fix that sprite for you.

Robotboy, please stick to one thread for development. Let this thread slide away, and keep on your TTT thread, please.

Oterwise, I'll have to lock one of them ;)

It's a good start, but buildings don't have one giant window an every side. Consider that that building is the same size as a detached house!

The shading on the left side also needs to be a bit darker, IMO.

Still, It's better than I could do!

Its meant to be like one of those tall office biuldings with verry thin window frames.

Scale is way too small. Look at Zimmlock's buildings for example to see what the scale is. I believe one floor is at least 3 pixels high. The building you drew should be at a 2x2 tile.

Actually, one floor is 8 pixs IIRC.
