Screenies are Great

Mr. Captain Kirk;

First, your 'story' & screenies are great. You telling the story without so much writing
that one can't help but 'get the picture', which in my thinking is good. Many times when
you see one of these 'series', you'll say, "Sheeesh, I don't have time to read all that,
right now.", and it goes unread and what one hopes to accomplish is usually lost,
simply because it's too long to read. (About like my explaination here. 8o)

Anyway, good job! Second, question; the station like in Pisa, I've seen before. I don't
have these, I don't think. Can you tell me who's they are and where I may find them?
I also noticed them in Ms. SAC's fine sceenie series.
Third, what year are you in? And fourth, I'm jealous, I don't know how to 'package'
screenies like you did here. http://ttdsaves.com/kirk/italyscen/

Thanks for sharing you work with us, Sir. :wink:

Mr. Wile E. Coyote, thanks for your Balkans 'info'. I also am collecting and learning
about those countries in the Balkan Peninsula. I go on vacation for 3 weeks to the USA
in November so it won't be finished for a while though. I haven't seen my kids for 7 1/2 years,
so, it's way past time to go 'home'. :(

OK, Here's my latest screenies from "Illustrious Italy".

Always,
Jim Powers

In answer to your question, Which station do you refer to at Pisa, if you look, they are two different station designs there.
Thirdly, The year is 2012, i forgot to pause the game one night, and left it, and the time simply flew by :oops: .
and fourthly, that site where i hosted my page from is owned by me, its fairly simple to do what i achieved, its just a bit of coding, if you wish i can teach you how to make a basic page such as that. (indeed, i could also host a page or two for you if you'd like a shot at it)

Hope this answered some questions for you :))

EDIT, see also my thread here, it goes into more detail what i plan to do with that website http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=27979

Website needed

Mr. Captain Kirk;

Wow! That certainally got results. It must be needed around here. :shock:
Man, LOL and I believe you'll succeed. Of course I'll be posting there also.

BTW, here's a 'screenie' from my "Cool Colorado" scenario, I've been working on. 8)

Oh wow, it certainly is cool! i love the shape of that town too, you truly do produce better scenarios each time!

EDIT: also done part 2 of my journey's through Italy http://ttdsaves.com/kirk/italyscen/part2.html
I'm becoming quite the happy snapper!

Just a little question. Is that page in HTML? Because when I look at the source, there is a / in each <br> tag and in each <img> tag (<br /> and <img src="fgarga.jpg" />

And Jim, that scenario looks brilliant! :shock:

Extemely basic HTML, However as far as im aware, that is correct, i use <br/> on all my web coding, is that incorrect?

And what was you doing viewing the source.

by Samwise
Well I was just wondering in what code it was programmed. And AFAIK, (And I know much about HTML ;) ) <br> only is enough. Dídn't know however that <br /> works too. and for <img /> I tried that, and only <img> worked here :?

EDIT: Don't worry, I wasn't trying to steal anything. If that's what you thought, I'm sorry for that :oops:

Oh good lord no! There is nothing to steal, feel free to look, i was merely curious!

the IMG code works like this

Code: Select all

<img src="url here" alt="alternatetext (optional)" />

by Samwise
What I've learned is this:

<img src="<name file>" alt="<alternate text>" align="<left or right or whatever>"> Can you show me the tutorial with that / in the end? I've really never seen that in my 6 years of HTML programming :?

My page is not XHTML Complient, as i am not fully aware of compliency, as i have already said, it is BASIC HTML i do, nothing fancy, i do what works. If anyone wishes to teach me proper XHTML, then go ahead.

I also beleive this is enough Off Topic talk. If you wish to continue criticising my coding, then please direct it to my private message inbox.

EDIT: I also made it pass verification for the people who didnt like it. I would like to note that the <img> & <br/> have nothing to do with it failing in the first place.

Forward slashes only appear in tags when used to end the tag, by being placed in front of the tag itself. Of course, they're also used in <a>, <url> and <img> tags, but that's neither here nor there.

Mr Jim Powers. I hope everything goes well for you in the States.

Mr. Raichase;

Once again, you've come through for me and I'm obliged to you, my Friend. I really
like the way you titled both Italy scenarios. It quickly shows why there are two.
Thanks, Buddy! :wink:

Always,
Jim Powers
ps. I saw, in your topic, about those fine billboards at the RR stations. They work great!

More Super Pics

Dear TT-forums Members;

I've added more 'Super Pics' to my list of scenarios. They're next to the scenario downloads.
I hope this gives you all a better idea of the scenarios. :wink:

(My latest 'Super Pic' is for my "Absolutely Aussie" scenario.)

Jim Powers

Way too much green! ~50% should be solid desert, and another ~20% arid (and if you want to get really current, those percentages are even higher atm due to drought). But looks like a pretty good map anyway :)

Desert Scenarios

Posted: 27 Oct 2006 07:34
by Jim Powers
Mr. sc79;

Though I quite agree with you that not very much areas are desert, I also see you've
not made too many 'Tropical Mode' scenarios. There is nothing one can do about deserts.
They are randomly put there by The Editor. The fact is, Sir, that is one of the reasons
I don't like to make scenarios in the 'Tropical Mode'. I simply have no or little control
on where deserts can be made. Yes, you have a "Desert" button. If you want to click,
clear, and click, AND again repeat, for each tile, then, and only then you can have the
desert as you wish, one tile at a time. It's just not worth the effort to me. :wink:

But, I really do you for your interest, Sir. Is this the first time you've contacted me?
Please feel free to comment on any of my scenarios. The more heads 'put together',
the better the scenario, you think? :)

Always,
Jim Powers

wasnt there someone who made a huge desert using an external program, i saw it a while back. :?

I also see you've not made too many 'Tropical Mode' scenarios.
More to the point, I havent played Patch much; OTTD has the ability to drag desert squares :)
