hmm, try making it 4 squares long (instead of 2) and increase the rest proportionaly

Great start, Lt Gable! And welcome onboard
I think your initial shape looks very good, it gives the idea of the station. I kind of agree with the other folks about the size, it might be a bit larger. Let's not forget, though, that it is one of the smallest Parisian stations, the set will have others that are larger (Gare du Nord for instance) so I would not draw this one as a huge one.
Maybe switching from two tracks to three?
Anyways, the shape looks good and correct. Are you planning to draw it in both orientations (i.e. tracks going north-east and north-west)?

well there's two of em (halls) so i think it's at scale, let's take a look at the aerial photograph i joined. there's also a building between them.

That's right... but would it be a problem to keep the 2-hall structures with 3 tracks? Keeping the same proportions?

no it's not a problem, it's how i intended to make it, here's an update.
maybe i'll shorten the building of a square, because it will be simply out of scale if 4 square large.

Nice, could you teach me this way of planing it out.

by Lt gable
well no, i can't really teach because it's mainly aproximations, you know i draw with my eye, not with a ruler...

I draw with a pencil, never dipped a ruler in ink. Weird people, those French. Nice job though, Lt Gable. I'm curious what it will look like in the end.

Lookin better and better!
Can't wait to see the final result. I think everyone has their own style of drawing, for instance I never use "fake" colors, the shading is done simultaneously as shaping in my drawings!

i'm back with an update, enjoy! (i've been focusing on first building for reasons of easyness of copying it for the 3rd wich is almost the same.)

Looking great. This time next year you will be one of the best if you keep at it

here's an update, roof and glass roof, it's really hard to do... don't know if it's correct since i've got the nose in it for some hours now so i need advise.
thanks in advance.

It seems a little smaller than the proper TTD scale. I mean, the trains will be as tall as the station hall roof, so the passengers will have to stoop down to get inside the building...

Well, to have an idea, here is a mockup of that station together with one of our largest steamers (the 241A of Compagnie de l'Est, historically based in that station)
I do like the shading of the roof though!

Looks nice, maybe make it more TTD like and add some texture and stuff like that.

update, worked on the roof again then on the front of the building, comments are still welcome if constructive.

so i answer to myself, with another update of the roof, the back of the building with the end of the tracks, is now present, but still needs some work on the side for example (the grey part on the left), gotta see what's there to draw it... i also discovered the roof wasnt fully made of glass, only the green parts and the side of em are made of glass (green tinted glass and transparent one) the rest of the structure is covered of zinc, see attached url for real view. (it's too big for the forum, don't wanna break the table)

How about you finish drawing it first, THEN post the finished drawing! Instead of spamming us with updated pics...
