Twin Peaks, USA Scenario
Posted: 18 Aug 2006 03:19
by Jim Powers
Dear TT-Forums Friends & Family;
"
Twin Peaks, USA" is ready to thrill you today as you try,
I mean try, to do
what it takes to become a 'Tycoon'.
I loved
The Irish's radio address concerning the traffic tie ups. It reminded me of when
I lived in northern Calif. and would be heading for the weekend to the mountains. If you ever
got behind one of those logging trucks going (or down) one of those turning and twisting
mountain roads, where one false move you'd be 1,000 ft. lower instantly.......... [get the picture?]
Anyway, since "
Twin Peaks, USA" has only two cities, you don't want to 'tick off'
the city authorities. Major problem. and one other thing, which I know I've mentioned before, is to:
a) Put your Industries on 'Low.'
b) Use that fine Viaduct Grf.
c) Use the US Trainset.
This is the best way to gey the full effect of "
Twin Peaks, USA".
Oh, and a quick 'thanks' for the compliments on my last 'night scene'. Thay are fun to make,
when you only have about an hour to 'fool' with TTD.

OK, now to "
Twin Peaks, USA"!
Always,
Jim Powers

Here is my config list though.
I hope this helps.

heh, thats helps, though, id appreiate it if you could post a copy of your newgrf.cfg just so i can try to reproduce the exact enviroment you created it at, so i get maximum gaming enjoyment.
Thanks A LOT!
(also, just attach a file, use the attachment button below you post box, then browse to your TTD Folder, and add the correct file

it prevents excesively long posts

)
Hey, Thanks for the Help!

Thanks A LOT! thats the file, i can use that to determine the correct GRF files, and no problem about the help, only glad i could.
Thanks again for the great scenario, and the files to help me play it correctly!
I had the Wrong set of newgrfw.grf

Mr. Captain_Kirk76;
I just amended my "newgrf.cfg". I realized that I had the set up for my "Spicy Spain"
scenario, because that what I'm was playing right now. Sorry if it messed something up, Big guy.

Jim Powers

Hey guys,
Actually, best thing to do these days, is to press the debug button in you're newgrf window ingame, when you have the wanted sets activated.
This wrights "grfdebug.txt" in your TTD folder, which contains the names and details for only those grfs, which you have activated in that particular moment.
This way, it is much easier to tell which grfs you need to play a certain scenario.

Mr. The Irish;
I echo
Mr. Raichase. I sure didn't know what it was for.
Sure appreciate it, Sir.
Always,

p.s. I'm still converting 1/2 of all my RR stations to lowered 'Subways" which will handle all my Passenger/Mail trains.

I once again shall praise the aforementioned Mr Jim Powers for Pure Gold Brilliance.
I really like this scenario, and that bridge is very sexy... all high and that.
Kudos!

I'm very sorry to bother you guys with my question, because I'm sure this q has been posted 100 times or something, but maybe you guys can point me in the right direction?
I've got TTDX installed (for years now) and I've got OpenTTD installed as well, but when I try to play Jim Powers' scenario, it makes my ttd crash.
It should seem I don't have the correct graphics file installed or something, but I can't seem to figure it out.
any help please? thanks

Jim's scenarios are
TTDPatch scenarios, and not OpenTTD ones.
