Give me my Service Dress any day :) Although, I must be barmy as whilst I am trying to sell my 37 Pattern BD, I am looking to buy some 49 Pattern for my next impression. Yup, bonkers.

On a re-enactment note, finally purchased a rifle valise today. Perhaps that will stop people looking at me funny when I am loading my SMLE into the car. Perhaps not.
Nah I doubt it James, even in a valise its still gun shaped enough for people to notice, I've yet to be spotted by a neighbour with my BAR ( I will get some pics soon)

Also what size is your BD? I could be tempted to take it off your hands if it fits

Arguably, yes.

I'm writing out speculative letters to rail stations, but i'm a bit stuck.

To whom should I address it to, in days of yonder one may have put 'Station Master', but of course, that doesn't exist anymore.

Should I just write the address, and not name any specific individual on the envelope?

I believe "To whom it may concern" usually works in such situations.

That seems more like something you'd put on the actual letter, not the envelope.

"Station Management" would be who I would address it to, and "To whom it may concern" on the letter itself.

Who knows why this sign forbids you to have balloons?

I wonder if GTAV is going to be made for WiiU. I might get it eventually. If I get a good gaming PC I'll get Skyrim too.

I'm assuming it's at a train station in a tunnel at an airport. At airports many of those lovely "welcome home" balloons are sold. These are made of aluminium and filled with helium. Letting your balloon go might eventually cause it to be sucked into the tunnel where it will likely go near to the catenary. There is can cause a short, causing a bit of smoke and that causes the tunnel to be shut down.

Ah, thanks. It makes sense once you know the reason behind it :).

But rubber balloons should be okay, no?

Why are those restricted as well?

This is outraging.

A rubber balloon locked near the catenary can still do some damage to the pantograph when a train comes.

"Balloons"
...

"Plastic sack"

The creator must be thinking that IC is made up of rubber.

I will never think of balloons in the same way again.
