I am trying to search for pictures of these:

but I don't really know what they're called. I have mainly seen them in the Alps where they are built over roads/railways mainly for avalanche protection although I am sure they have other uses. I have always called them 'train galleries' but obviously searching for that on Google images just brings up plenty of images of trains! Does anyone know a better name for them?

Perhaps some of our foreign friends could let me know their German/French name as that will obviously work in Google too!

Thanks

You were close with 'train gallery', they are commonly know as galleries, just 'avalance gallery', either that or a snow shed, as above.

I actually remembered them as Avalanche Galleries, but the wikipedia page says "Snow Sheds" so *shrug* take your pick :)

This is what our toilets will be like in 200 years.

We will have evolved beyond the need to expel waste.

I much more think we've been assimilated.

I really hope that something like that will be in TARS. I think with Stolen Trees you can even replicate that picture!

Actually there was this patch that allowed building tunnels strongly resembling that.

At this point I'm not sure if it was even a thing, or never moved beyond concept stage.

I am working on a concept of sorts. I'll show more when I have developed it a little further.

So it's not about types, just sorts. Exciting ;).

I guess it's quite feasible already ? (using waypoints / stations, objects)

New reenacting impression in the works for next year,

British 2nd Parachute Brigade, Bren Gunner, during Operation Dragoon.

I have a new found respect for anyone having to wear BD.

Aye, I hate BD. Itchy bloody stuff, looks like a bag of crap tied in the middle and less use than that it replaced. Give me my Service Dress any day :) Although, I must be barmy as whilst I am trying to sell my 37 Pattern BD, I am looking to buy some 49 Pattern for my next impression. Yup, bonkers.

On a re-enactment note, finally purchased a rifle valise today. Perhaps that will stop people looking at me funny when I am loading my SMLE into the car. Perhaps not.

I've been reading articles on the X-Men film series, and I really hope that the producers eventually shoot a film based on the Age of Apocalypse storyline. Too bad they killed off Jean Grey, or they could shoot the Dark Phoenix Saga too.

I liked First Class. The first two movies were pretty enjoyable as well

I'm a sucker for finales, so I liked The Last Stand as well.

Didn't they mix in the Dark Phoenix Saga in The Last Stand? Anyways, with X-Men dead doesn't necessarily mean dead, but I think it is unlikely that she will return as I think she has outlived her usefulness in the films...
