I don't think we'll be adding buffers with grass to ISR, as there are no stations in ISR that need them.
andythenorth wrote:Steam crawler crane. Good for about 1850-1950 I reckon.
Thanks Andy :D It's looking good. If these are available until 1950, isn't that a bit early for the change to the modern crawler cranes? Maybe the steam cranes could continue up to 1960 and then introduce the modern variety.
andythenorth wrote:Someone (not me sorry!) needs to draw some smoke..?
Smoke would be cool, but apart from needing someone to draw it, some people will complain that it uses too many sprites. ;)
andythenorth wrote:probably a bit dark in the shadows, needs softening
Yes I agree.
frankvw wrote:Speaking about smoke ... when a train is offloading coal, or other minerals, you'd expect some dust. So, why not adding some smoke at ground level when a train dumps stuff ?
This would also be very cool, but I can see a number of difficulties...

Do whatever you think works best on that...based on research, diesel cranes are fine back to the 1930s, but choose whatever fits best in the game.

Updated Reach Stacker sprites. These have been made less dark in the shadows - thanks for the feedback on that. I have been looking at original TTD sprites, and some of Dan MacK's work for inspiration, and I think these updated sprites should fit to the world in better. Example:

@ Mart: the yellow stacker is intended to have a black cab and the red stacker should have a white cab. Due to the way these are exported there are extra combinations of yellow/white and red/black. I don't mind whether you use them or not.

Updated Heavy Forklifts - less dark. Ignore the extra yellow angle in some of the sprites only used by animation which only applies to the yellow version.

Well, strictly defined stations not, but a freight station complex might need it. (Dead end track for shunting or storing some freight cars for example.) Also I could imagine a grassy wood loading station for the future as well. They usually don't have platforms. Well, at least here in Hungary. This is only a shy suggestion though.

And I can of course accept if you don't want to include them. Thanks for the answer.

@andythenorth: Thanks for all the sprite updates. :D
Nagyzee wrote:Also I could imagine a grassy wood loading station for the future as well...
We are planning new wood station tiles, but these will have dirt base tiles rather than grass. There will be a new set of buffers with dirt base tiles to suit these.

Well, there is a generic buffer set floating around somewhere that has buffers with grass in them. I use that set and I do use those buffers once in a while. Because of that set I don't mind not to have those buffers with grass in ISR.

Kind regards,
Smaug

Yes, I also use them. I brought up the idea because the generic buffers are not snow aware. (At least in temperate.)

Hi,

compliments on the new station set which I enjoyed a lot during wwottdgd and now on our public server, building nice stations :)
One thing I wonder, though, whether streets, level crossings and related tiles (like also container storage,...) could additionally be also available in a higher version (similar as before). To have the choice between the low and the high version gives more variety and at times might make things fit better :).

Keep up your awesome work.

I'll second that, the choice of good cargo too to have a high tile version (containers and containers with crane tiles) as there are plenty of high-tile loading options but only one low tile (the huge and quite frankly awesome cranes).

Beyond that this pack is brilliant and I have used it so much in creating large eyecandy within CoOp..

Hi, I don't know if this was already posted, but I found that goods station miss catenary for elrail type, I'm using OpenTTD nightly (always the latest) and 0.7.0, I usually build the stations of the "Industrial: stations" item

You forgot the conveyors north.

Else the set is really great. I'm using it in every game.

I was pleased to see the grf pack updated with v0.7.0 in time for wwottdgd. I'm glad you enjoyed playing with it, I guess the 'one-click-build' stations are quite useful for online play. :)

The decision was made to make all non-track tiles ground level, so that all tiles fitted together better. IMO what we have now is much better than the mixture of tile heights we had before. If we were going to add high level non-track tiles again, it would mean a lot of additional sprites and the use of many more station IDs...
Commie Si wrote:.. as there are plenty of high-tile loading options but only one low tile (the huge and quite frankly awesome cranes).
You're forgetting the new container cranes. :) And actually, if we are talking about non-track tiles, all the loading options are now ground level.

Yes it was already reported here, by Aegir. But thanks for spotting it anyway. ;)

I had a thought the other day of an overhead conveyor (the one on the coal unloading station would work) without any rail beneath it just the standard gray, low-level tile. If this was made in all directions then various station parts could be connected to industries from a bit of a distance.

Yes, good idea. :D And it doesn’t even need additional sprites. ;)

Great idea, I was thinking of drawing something like this, but as Mart said, we can just use the existing one.

On the subject of mine facilities, have a look at this RL loadout! http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=242455&nseq=6

Love the progress so far people, looks awesome!! Is it possible to have tiles avaialble only for shoreline, I've doodled up an idea for a Hulett Ore Unloader There's also a video of these things at work on Youtube, but I haven't got the link ATM, I picture it spanning 2 tracks and taking up a total area of about /4 tiles, one of which is over water (if it's animated)

Thoughts?
