1.4.3 is on the bananamachine. Fixes a bug in 1.4.2. Also new translations.

1.4.2 is a big release, more here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 2#p1141742

Updating 1.4.2 savegames to this version won't fix the Machine Shop bug unless you also demolish and rebuild each Machine Shop. I didn't bump the savegame version (forgot), so you can try this if you know how, but if your game blows up, don't come crying to me :twisted:

Really nice "facelift" there. :bow: There are nothing about Heart of Darkness though, I guess that means there are no changes there?
And I wouod really love to see FIRS in 32bpp. :wink:

a new FIRS ;) yummy !!! haven t tried it yet so i can t judge if it s good or not, but simply seeing some development on FIRS makes me happy :)

Thank you Andy for enhancing/renewing a part of the game once more :D

You are using Road Hog trams and trucks. I would like to see and try those vehicles but can't find any newGRF with that name.

According to this post, you'll need OTTD version 1.4.4 or newer.

And OpenTTD 1.4.4 is what I use.

It may be minor, but thank you for this! I thought that was an unavoidable side effect of all industry sets, but this makes it so much better :D

Could be given the option to create new industries, having the option to not open alone enabled?

Like what you added in version 1.4.3 Bulk Terminal and the Port. Makes the distribution of some produce more realistic.

Could add more to those 2 .. much raw materials from the mines and farms are also exported, so be good if Port and Bulk terminal excepts some of these, or make some other ports one for raw minerals such as coal and ore, and one for the grain.

Grocery Shop good, but in bigger cities could have Shopping Mall or maybe a Market place to accept the same as Groceries stores do .. place be more realistic delivering full train loads of produce to a Markets rather then a little Grocery Store.

Add a vegetable farm, or have the Mixed Farm also produce Vegetables that can go to the markets and big cities.

Freight Terminals be another industries for in towns for sending mixed freight and accepting all manufacturing and building materials and other mixed frights. They can be also used on the coast lines for exporting wool, cotton, and some other farm produce.

I know this next idea sounds a bit silly and doubt if anything can be done about it. But trains, road vehicles, planes and boats, all need fuel to operate. Be interesting when starting a game, the depots already have a supply of fuels to last a certain period of time, but after a while need to supply the depots with coal and or fuel to keep the vehicles well maintained. Electric trains and trams need electricity for the power, so installation of a power sub-stations or power stations.

These just ideas. It a great game.

Hi, I'm wondering what to plug into the "base" value in the formula here ( http://wiki.openttd.org/Cargo_income ) for FIRS cargo. I've looked at the source and think I know what to do for Days1 and Days2, but I have not figured out the "base" value.

The only problem is that the price_factor is far too low to be used as is, 108 scrap metal taken ~100 tiles in 30 in-game days (12 days in formula) got me 6773 funds, according to the formula, using price_factor as "base", I should have been paid 166 or 167 funds. The lowest "base" value in vanilla is 3185, and the highest is 7964, the highest price_factor seems to be under 200.

:D Great using FIRS Industries especially when building scenarios as can make many towns more realistic by providing the industries in that town what they had in real life.

I found adding the following NewGRF's improve it even more. Town and Industry - UK Houses, NLHS - Dutch Houses v0.1.01, Housing-Industry Alpha 0.1, Oil-Fired Power Station (this also adds a coal Power station which Firs does not have). Add these before Firs Industries otherwise will interfere with the cargo distribution.

"Town and Industry - Basic Industries" can be used with FIRS, adds a Farm, Coal Power station and extra mines, forest and some others. Need to fiddle what order to load this and FIRS other wise will interfere with cargo distributions.

Does any one know of any other industries and files that improve your world and will work well with FIRS?

Every time I try to start a game with firs, there is always at one industry that doesn't get placed. I'm using Spring Patch Pack

Sorry, can't do anything about bugs in patch packs :) Report it to the patch pack author, unless it happens in vanilla OTTD (1.5.0 or such).

Doesn't happen for me with vanilla OTTD, ever (I start FIRS games a *lot* during development). :wink:

This kind of thing actually does happen in 1.5.0 for me, but its usually with the ports or bulk terminals, even though they can build on any direction, they don't seem to want to build on map generation on north facing coasts.

There are a few times though when industry generation is set to very low or low where there may not be any suitable locations for town industries like a petrol station or hotel
