Re: Cinema - WIP Preview
Xeryus, you can pretty much ignore the colours. They won't be part of the final model, since a standard set of textures is in the works.XeryusTC wrote:It looks a bit like a building you would see in a futuristic shooter, not that it's bad but it doesn't really fit into OTTD now, what you could do is changing the greenish color to some kind of gray or brick-red/yellow.
The red is also a bit too red, maybe it could use a bit of a maroonish tint.

Needs more pipes, but any other suggestions? Also, as some might have noticed already, I started doing a little work on a steel mill. Any thoughts about how it looks? I mean, about the type of steel mill.

Do you mean it is too long?
It's been four months since I made it, but if I recall correctly, I used this picture to get the scale right.

Off the Rails: Your cinima has some key features of a theator/cinima front, and you definatly have the right key shapes. I think the center grey section that over hangs couild curve around the near corner, to add some depth to the top left - bottom right dimention. If that makes sence. A long disabled/quewing ramp up to the main door i think would be a key recognisable feature, that could go on. Your ideas to add on all sound good. Could you email me my free drink?
There seems to be suddenly a few more people working on graphics wich is pretty cool. I'll start on some again when my computers sorted, hopefully in a few days time.

The thing I learned when doing 3D graphics is that you shouldn't give up very soon, you need to learn everything. My advice to you is: do what the tutorial tells you and fiddle around a bit with some settings while reading the tutorial. You can also start experimenting with blender but don't expect anything big from it.ZxBiohazardZx wrote:well ok blender/making graphics isn't really my thingy lol, i really cant make any shape in blender and i dont get how to at all, yes i read all manuals, yes i saw the video tutorials, im sorry, the guys who can do this really are great, i respect you, ill try to give you as much feedback as possible but im affraid i wont be able (YET??) to do ANY graphic stuff

I don't realy follow where this topic goes, despite how awesome those graphics look, but i can't understand what these graphics have to do with OTTD? Is there some way you guys rescale them in 256 colours to create a sprite or something?

Like my new sig? Every pixel drawn from scratch

Wow, just wow.Crazy Vaclav wrote:This is my contribution for today, a collection of (more or less usefull) helicopters.
Those graphics are going to be used for the 32bpp branch, this should result in a better looking game and that should attract more players because most of them judge a game by looks on first sight. Correct me if I'm wrongSWASTIKA wrote:I don't realy follow where this topic goes, despite how awesome those graphics look, but i can't understand what these graphics have to do with OTTD? You can see future sprites of OpenTTD, which will be not degradated. It is the game which will be improvedSWASTIKA wrote:Is there some way you guys rescale them in 256 colours to create a sprite or something?
We will change OpenTTD to support full colour graphics with transparency (32 bits per pixel), multiple company colours.
