Was fooling around and something useful came out of it..
Basically, each Loco has its own depot in the "shunting yard", basically 2 trains wait at the yard while 2 locos load lumber, after one loco has left the loading bay at the lumber mill, one train can come out of the yard and go load lumber, while the one that has unloaded goes to the yard for service, then it waits until a slot at the lumber mill is free.

That looks pretty, especially in the rainforest..
What is that building in the loading station? A rainforest lumber mill (I forgot its real name)?

I've been playing singleplayer on 512x512.
You can see long route from western oilwell fields to rafinery at the east.
Unfortunatelly, around 1962 production in all industries dropped down to about 20 units monthly (for example, the oil wells were producing 100-250 units monthly when found, and 500-800 units around 1958), despite all stations were rated 84% and routes were effective.
Over 20 18-wagons long trais hauling oil were waiting on the stations. My profit dropped about 80%.
This sitiuation made my company almost bankrupt, so I could abort this game or cheat to incerase production back to "normal" state.
Do you know what happened to most industries, please? How can I restore the production? Remember my rating on all possible stations is 80-84%

nice city planning

. Do you have it at the beginning as a scenario or you built it during the game?

Does the game still not deploy those randomly? If it doesn't, maybe a developer should look into it.

i built it during the game
i chosed 2 cities then i made the road grid all around the cities and i built the railroad
while cities grow i build a new row/column of the grid, i build some tracks and the cities inglobe all which is in their path like a flood

well here is my most modern station...
the map size is 1024^2
the landscape is mountanious and the authorities hate me and my rude style
as you can see my cash is enough to ignore the costs, i can fully focus on the problems of building a track that can handle the traffic and is not blocked by cities...
the picture shows a part of my main transport lane (its fully extented to 2 tracks) and the most important steel mill (1500 t/m in avg)

Post save gave. STAT!

Well here is some more stuff about my game:
sometimes I have problems with the train network and there are traffic jams caused by some strange junctions or tracks getting together. These parts need a redesign. But most parts are fluid and its just fun to watch.
I played with the latest nightly.
Enjoy it

If you would realize that in the desert climate wood is the most precious AND you don't have to do anything with a sawmill, it is a good decision. Having sawmills already placed would make the game even easier.

These pictures are on a 1024x1024 map. It's a pretty spread out network with about 180 trains so far, but still expanding.
