thanks in advance

My Four Square Saved Game

Mr. Maverick8;

Sure, dear member, not a problem. Thanks for asking.:wink:

Mr. Raichase, You've been awlful nice, my Friend, I certainly appreciate your
faithful encouragement. I hope I didn't give the impression that I was braggin',
I'd rather try to let people know just how popular and entertaining TTD actually is.
Anyway, the facts are there for anyone to see, I'm just bringing them to the members
attention, so as to keep encouraging others to 'get on board'!

Here's 'Four Square Transportation Co.', my saved game
from my Scenario"TTD - Squares".

Always,
Jim Powers

Don't you think 'Incredible' does more justice to India than 'Interesting'?
Or does it sound too much like a TV ad? ;)

by Jim Powers
Mr. White Rabbit;

You're right, it sounds incredibly better. :lol:

From now on this scenario will be called "Incredible India"! 8)

Always,
Jim Powers

(p.s. Now, I'd better go and change the name in TTD.)

Jim, re: Four Squares. It's a nice game, but why so many tracks?

Why so many tracks?

Posted: 21 Mar 2006 15:08
by Jim Powers
Mr. Trev;

You asked a very good question, Sir. I feel I have a pretty good answer. The theme
of "TTD - Squares" is to NOT change the shape of the 36 cities, but, all the while make
as much commerce as you possibly can, either from Industry or Passenger/Mail. I choose
the latter. Although I'm not finished with this scenario, I plan to set as many trains as
possible to extract as many Passenger/Mail cargo as possible. I 'leap-frogged' my
Bus/Truck stations into the center of the cities so as to expand the train station's capacity.
Thus, a lot of smooth running tracks will be needed, I believe. I'm sure there are better
ways to do this, but, isn't that what TTD is all about? It's the challenge I like. I sure
don't claim to have the best answer, Mr. Trev.

Thanks for your input, it is most welcomed. :wink:

Always,
Jim Powers

Jim, I could NEVER accuse you of bragging. You are one of the most humble creators we have here :)).

All you ask is that people enjoy what you set out to create, and thats certainly been achieved.

Happy Birthday again :)) (can never say that too much, I think).

Incredible India

Dear Mr. Raichase;

You're such a nice guy. I appreciate your most generous comments, Sir. I'm just
'one-of-the-guys' whose hung up on TTD. Like anyone else, I get away from TTD
for a while, then I'm always back with renewed enthusiam for "The Game".

And speaking of The Game..... I finally finished my latest scenario "Incredible India"!

This latest scenario is set in the temperate mode and is, of course, about The Eastern
countries, mainly India, with parts of Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Where else can you
find so many reasons for passenger trains? We go back in time to 1925, and maybe
we began by trying to build a RR network among the mountains, where some are raising
straight up from the coastline. Then you might decide to run a RR line across the
mainland of India, in which you'll have to contend with the many farms, which dot the
valleys, with their insistance on using your RR for their industrial purposes.

Industry includes Iron, Steel, Coal, Grain, etc., etc., all of which is so very important to
the growth of this 2nd most populous country in the world. You might even try your
hand at building a railway from New Delhi to Islamabad. Is it profitable enough? Well,
that's for you to decide. There's plenty of opportunities to either win or lose your hard
earned investment dollars (rupels). Either way, you'll have plenty of fun working with
"Incredible India", I know I did! :wink:

I present my latest scenario "Incredible India".

Jim Powers

First download! :D

Unfortunately, I can't start playing your scenario yet, Jim. I am missing some GRFs, which causes industries and buildings to not show up properly. What GRFs have you used?

Building set in Incredible India

by Jim Powers
Mr. White Rabbit;

Please check with Mr. Krtaylor or Mr. Sanchimaru about the use of their building and
landscape grf. I thought that at least some of those buildings were available now.
But, I could be wrong. The reason I have them is because they were kind enough to let
me have assess to them because I'm making Japanese scenarios for their
Japan Train Set, which is truely amazing. Since that's not completed yet, maybe
those grf. aren't available. If that's the case, then stay with the current buildings that
are available. I don't have any special Industry graphics, the ones I use are already
available.

Boy! That Japanese collection that they are working on, is quite phenomenal!
Hopefully it will be available soon. :lol:

All we need now for the city to be clogged with cars and buses, and it's India!

Love the effect, looks really great!

EDIT: Updated the first page. :)).

Hmm, I'm afraid that the version of the Japanset buildings that you used, Jim, is an quite old one.

I've been working on coding that .grf myself a lot lately (Downloadble in my projects thread, link in my signature), I'm unsure of how compatible it still is, though.

Dear Jim Powers,

I must say that I enjoy your scenarios very much! Keep on the good work!
I have a question too. I like airplanes very much, wich scenario do you recommend? (I can't play all the scenarios, much schoolwork)

Thanks, Sar.

(PS. Sorry for the very bad English :P )

Tokyo experience

Hi Jim,
I have been playing your superb scenarios for a while now, and each one is excellent! very well done and well made. I am wondering how your Tokyo Experience scenario is coming on, I know you are waiting for the full Japanset to be released. I am very interested in Japanese Railways, have visited Tokyo, and so I would be very grateful if you could release the Tokyo Experience scenario anyway, I'd love to play it! Will have great fun trying to build the many elevated suburban lines in tokyo..

Thanks,
Mike.

Japanese Set

Mr. Sar;

I'm happy that you like my scenarios. I like making them for others to hopefully enjoy.
Now, to answer your Airplane scenario question. I didn't answer you right away because
I felt I owed it to you to give you a "thought-through" answer. See, I like the Airplane
section of Transport Tycoon Deluxe also. And, have had many hours of fun building
empires with them. So, here are, (I believe) my 10 top Airplane scenarios.
Extreme Cities, Out of Africa, Europe Classic, Oil Heaven, Taming the Swiss, Norden Plus,
Western Pacific Rails, Russia-Europart, Mid Central Rails, and Lumber Jack.

I favorite Airplane scenario probably is "Western Pacific Rails". It is quite a challenge
inserting those small, and later on, large airports in some of those mountainous towns.
On the European side, my favorite would have to be "Europe Classic".

I hope this satisifies your question and may you have a blast building your Airlines
on one of my scenarios. Thanks for your interest, Sir! :wink:

Always,
Jim Powers

Japanese Scenarios

by Jim Powers
Mr. Miketrak;

First, I sincerely thank you for your kind compliments concerning my scenarios, Dear Member.
I've always liked creating and working with strategy and through this most loved
game, TTD, I'm able to do just that. You've made my day, Sir.

Now, about the Japanese scenarios. I, like you and many others, are also much interested
in the Japanese project, which include vehicles, buildings, landscape, etc., etc., and I was
approached by the Japanese team to come up with some scenarios of Japan, for all these
new 'fun toys' to run on. I already have two Japanese scenarios completed (one of them
is "The Tokyo Experience",) and am working on yet another. But, in all due respect to the fine
members of The Japanese Train Set, I can't release these scenarios until the rest of the set
is built. :cry: I'm sure you can understand, Mr. Miketrak, that it wouldn't be fair to all concerned.
The coders, like Mr. Aegir, need to finish their part and it is time-taking, I'm sure, so
please be a bit more patient and I'm sure it will be worth the wait. :wink:

BTW, if there are any other 'coders' out there with a little spare time, please contact
The Japanese Team!

Always,
Jim Powers

p.s. I'm back playing a game from my scenario "Lumber Jack". Here's a screenie.

Now Jim, we've talked about your workers going on strike and refusing to load containers onto trains, but I think things are getting a bit out of hand. Kindly inform your workers that their pay raises will come shortly, if they would only move all those goods off of my paper mill!

:lol:

Nice screenie mate, love it :)).

I think at this point, even if they wanted to, they couldn't, as there is absolutely no space to manouver around. :D

On Strike!

by Jim Powers
Dear Raichase;

Over here they'd be lucky to get paid at all! Actually, what happened was that the
supervisor forgot to tell the workers that Saturday night it went to
Day Light Savings Time, thus, they all were an hour late for work. So then, that automatic
crane just kept on unloading anywere it could. (Yeh, over here in Israel, we work Sunday
thru Thursday. Weird bunch.) :wink:

Mr. The Irish, don't forget that Israelis love to be crammed together like sardines
in a can. See, after they've had a cup of coffee and talked half an hour, they'll figure
out how to get it on the trucks, if, there's an American around there to tell
them how. (Hee,Hee!) :lol:

Thanks, Guys, for the imaginary comments.

Always,
Jim Powers
