lots of your rails can be shrinken with PBS (by getting rid of some tunnel passes etc)

at the 19k factory there is a broken junction .... one signal on the right side of the station (pre-signal) is 1-way instead of 2-way (so trains always take straight way)

It isn't actually broken : I made it that way, so the trains devide themselves a bit better.
If the crossing behind that signal is occupied trains take the other rout, otherwise they go straight.
Upcoming trains behind the trains that take the straight track and have to wait can go around that waiting train.
It works quite well there. If I wouldn't do it like that trains coming from the left would cross nearly all the way to the right and block the crossing.

About shrinking with PBS: I need most of those tunnels and bridgecrossing because of the amount of trains. It's a bit quiet at the moment due to reducing productivity, but that will change in the upcoming years.

Here is my Arctic Zone scenario as mentioned in the Pictures thread. Its a big map, Arctic setting. There are a lot of different islands, lots of mountains, with industries nicely spaced. Loads of fun. Also quite challenging

well ... check it again, I think second train is going straight even if platform ahead is busy

When the junction before that is taken the train takes the track right of that crossing.
If the tracks leading to the station are full and the crossing is free, the train will go straight.
But then behind that waiting train the upcoming trains will take the other route on the right.
Believe me if it's really busy this is the best way to have as much trains as possible entering the station.

ok, heres a challenge, a medium sized network is allready in place, including express lines and some other pretty stuff, Transrapid has just become available. Your mission, if you choose to accept it:
option
a) upgrade existing network to include more freight trains
b) expand existing network onto the other landmass
c) attempt to integrate the transrapid system with the existing network

use an unlimited budget (cht money ;)) and post what you manage by 2050 back here try and limit expansion to trains, but use some other vehicles if you really must. I'd offer a prize for the best one, but y'lnow i don't have any money, so the winner (judged by me) will recieve the eternal respect of all fellow tt-ers

Can you feel a shakedown coming?

I'm not sure, one has to be careful with copyright and things, can anyone offer me some guidance on this?

Perhaps directing Rollo to the right files would be in order. I know if you do a search for "Silverline" stations, you should be able to find the SVLINEW.GRF file...

STACJAW.GRF is the industrial stations, yes? Again, that shouldn't be too hard to find, somewhere in the graphics forum (but I am not sure this is what it is).

The others, I have not heard of, sorry Rollo :(.

stacjaw.grf was passenger station ... but it was quiet buggy as far as I rememeber

I think it will probably work without those grfs, find the silverline one as suggested above, and ditto the industrial stations, but the rest don't seem to make much difference when i turned them off ;)

EDIT: How are other people getting on with this challenge?

Savegame, newgrf.cfg and ttpatchw.cfg of my latest savegame.

Playing the adapted version of JimPowers Dutch scenario.
You need DBsetXL and all the other stuff for best results.

Enjoy...

Well, here it is.
Done since last posted save:
Added more Feeder stations, now with a total of 24x8.
Added more Goods pickup, now with a total of 15x11.
Mostly functioning PBS.
Some updates on the worst jammed junctions.

As before, would appreciate any comments on the network.
Tips etc.
