@Voyager1 - it appears it might be fixed in recent versions of the game :)

For FIRS, HEQS and FISH, I'm no longer testing with builds of OpenTTD after 0.7.5. This means I won't know about issues arising from nightlies or newer releases.

If serious issues are reported I'll compile an OS X nightly to test. I can compile, it's just tedious to do it for a specific version when a bug is reported.

For the time being though, I suspect 0.7.5 will be the officially supported version for my grfs. Hope a maintainer can be found for the mac port of OpenTTD :|

EDIT - I now only use self-compiled nightly. So FISH and my other grfs are only tested by me with recent nightlies.

OK, a few explanations. :D I'm using 0.7.5. and the FISH version was 0.2.
As I said, the "problem" is not important, just something to let you know in case you're interested.

Andy,

I could have sworn I chimed on on either this thread or the release thread before, but here goes:

First, FISH is great! Nice little ships when I need them, and bigger ones too.

My only request would be for sequential introduction dates for the ships- the smallest in 1900, next in 1925, the next in 1950- doesn't have to be realistic, but would be nice if you feel like adding that to the "to do" list for the next release.

Some suggestions and bug reports:

- Small Coaster's running cost is "0". Is this problem only caused for me?
- For passengers, there would be some middle-sized ships with about 100 person capacity.
- Also, these ships are too, too slow for long, long games...
Faster ships, something like 40km/h cargo ships of the original TTD ships, would be appear in the later days.
- And I expect you already thinking of it: it would be really great if this set contain its own speed boats
(hovercraft, hydrofoil, WIG ships... personally I love WIGs :D )

Anyway, thank you very much for this cool ships GRF!
I always missed for assorted new ships since Michael Blunk (seems to) abandoned his NewShips GRF development.

I've got 0 running cost too, but I don't consider that a "bad bug". I like it :D
Regarding the speed, i think to that the ships speed is waaaay too slow.
How about a poll Andy regarding the speed. Put 3 4 choices.

:mrgreen: Tough cookies. Big cargo ships won't be going any faster. They seem to make money in every game I've used them in ;) See next comment...

Faster passenger ships will definitely be added some time. I'm planning hovercraft, hydrofoil, waterjet ferry etc.
There might be a hovercraft that refits to cargo, but the capacity will be limited and it will be expensive to run :)
There will be a faster 'utility vessel', this will be based on the kind of ship that is used to move supplies to oil rigs. It will be about 36mph, with a passenger capacity of 100. Cargo capacity will probably be lower. (1 passenger != 1t of cargo)

I'm not planning to add anything to FISH for a little while, I'd like to release a 'finished' version of FIRS first.

That cargo hoverboat, I think it should be limited in cargo carrying, to valuables and goods, and food.

Somehow I can't see a hoverboat carrying coal or oil!

Simple: don't do that ;-) Other people might have other ideas what purpose those boats serve.

FISH 0.3 available in the first post of the thread, and on Bananas.
Main feature: Tanker graphics when refitted to liquid cargos for River Boats and Traders (except Island Trader).

I discovered that the Traders are open their tailgate when loading, is this feature wil be added to Coasters in the future?

Yes. Opening hatches will be a feature for most ships when I get around to it.

I'm also considering cargo sprites, but that becomes a *lot* of work, and it will probably never happen.

FISH 0.5 released - grf is on Bananas and in the first post of this thread.

Main feature - a new freight hovercraft: the Porcupine 30. This is a fast (but expensive) way to ship small amounts of freight by river, lake and sea. I've asked if the game can be patched so hovercraft can go on both land and water, the answer is "no" :P

Available 1972. Top speed: 46mph loaded, 60mph unloaded. Refits to all cargo except passengers.

Nice! Are those pink things suppose to be containers? Why not make them in different colors and make them appear randomly at each load to get more variety, use industrial stations renewal set containers?

I probably will, it just needs more drawing and coding :shock: I wanted to release this ship :)
