GRFMaker: Three section articulated vehicles

Dear All

Using GRFmaker v4 I can do two section articulated vehicles but it seems beyond me to get a three section vehicle to work, has anyone successfully done it using GRF maker and if so can they post up an example please?

hi there,

I believe that inside the Ikarus Bus set(made by colossal) there is some three section articulated vehicules....

HEQS also has trailers behind roadvehicles and trams ... up to 15.
Source is here and GPL http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/heqs but I do not know if the authors used GRFMaker.

You may want to ask andythenorth, planetmaker or Terkhen for more info. ;)

HEQS is coded in NFO. Unless you plan to add a lot of NFO blocks to your GRFMaker HEQS examples will not be very helpful :)

There's an example of how 3 section RVs works in GRFMaker, but the coding is not by me. It's made by GL2, I made only the drawings and the data collecting.
I disabled some lines in it what you don't need, but it has a feature of a loading sprite (have open doors and blinkers on while staying at a stop) and a not used feature of a special sprite when going to the depot, but I think these won't need for you, so just ignore these lines.

AFAIK the essence is the second callback in the variational block. But if you insert sprites in it (unfortunately I don't found them, thi code is from the old Ikarus set), and write a bigger number in "csuklószám" block you will get more trailers :)

However GRF maker fails to open the file giving the error "incorrect block size" - perhaps its needs the sprites to go with it?

The next problem is getting the trams to turn corners nicely. You can do it with offsets with 3 pert vehicles but with a 5 part tram with short sections that doesn't work.

Ive been talking with 404 about this but if anyone else know how to do it in GRF maker please chip in.

A simple code snippet to do it would be OK to - as long as its clearly annotated
