Re: (UNI) Generic Australian Rail Set (GARS)
You don't think I knew that already? I wouldn't list those letters for the companies if I didn't know what they stood for (eg. AN = Australian National, NR = National Rail, WAGR = western australian government railways)oberhümer wrote:Um... Victorian Rail = VR. Unless you mean them.

I plan on adding locomotives and railstock from most of Australia's major railroads in 2cc so that people can either play as that railroad using real life colours, or using their own colours to play as their own fictional Australian railroad

I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood you. It sounded like you were saying Victorian Rail wasn't among the companies you listed.
Apologies again, though you could have made yourself more clear...

To get back on track... NekoMaster, I think it would be a good idea to integrate that old QR set of yours into this.

Re: (UNI) Generic Australian Rail Set (GARS)
I probably should, shouldn't I? I should probably also add in some of 2cc sets aussie sprites as well as my QR tilt trains and the DL Class I made for my old aussie train set...oberhümer wrote:To get back on track... I should probably also change the version to 5 (7 works but causes a naming problem)

Re: (UNI) Generic Australian Rail Set (GARS) R&D
Apologies for the bump but I just wanted to say thanks for making this, I've had an idea to make a South Australia scenario and wanted some authentic trains for the experience. (and a dedicated trainset in general)
Are there any other Australian GRFs around that I should know about? I've already got the fittingly quirky Australian Town Names one, but I'd like to see some more dedicated GRFs for other vehicle types. Would you consider trams as well? I'd love to see the old Adelaide trams.

The steam trams in BATS are pretty much the same as early Australian trams as many were brought from Britain

I didn't mean that old, they only phased out those nice-looking Adelaide trams a few years ago. (though the new ones are far roomier, faster and all-round better, they do lack the charm)

Re: (UNI) Generic Australian Rail Set (GARS) R&D
There's an "Australian Standard Gauge Set" in real colors that has more trains in it than this right now, and also a "Victorian Tram Set".

Re: (UNI) Generic Australian Rail Set (GARS) R&D
Alright so after a very long time I've finally decided to get back to work on this set.
Though since i havent drawn sprites in a while, I kinda need some help with my new sprites that Im drawing.
The bottom line of sprites is a 45 class (work in progress, only the <- and -> views have been drawn), I just can't shake the feeling that my sprites are missing something.

Here's something that could be interesting. The WA suburban sets:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transperth_A-series_train
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transperth_B-series_train
Can be a refit of Brisbane suburban sets:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suburban_M ... land_Rail)
Just some food for thought.

The problem with those trains is I can never find the specs for australian multi-units. I need their weight and horsepower (at least the speeds are there)Doorslammer wrote:Here's something that could be interesting. The WA suburban sets:

If my nerdy and all-knowledgable friends reply to my question sent to them, you'll be the first to know. Might take a while though.

@NekoMaster - Do you want me to PM you all my "Aussie" things from the 2cc set? They'll just need recoloring.
