jake.grimshaw wrote:Great work as always Andy. Can I ask, how far away is the set from being totally snow-compatable? (I.E. having all the snow sprites done?) Are we talking weeks/months' of work?
At the moment it's totally down to Irwe and how much time he can spare :) He has a nice touch with the snow!

Great thing!
Is it possible to include parameter forcing all industries to be placed near towns?

A quick note about the textile mills; I had never noticed before, but those vertical black gutters look weird, especially with the building built twice (see second layout, the one in red). It looks like a glitch rather than a feature in my opinion.

Also, I have a question (although that might have more to do with the game than the grf...). If you try to dunf an industry in a space that can only fit one of the layouts, will automatically build that one, or will it send error messages until you get lucky enough for the randomness to choose the one that fits?
I am little, ugly, and nasty. How do you do?

@furniture, maybe sth else
There are empty bare tile.
I think it may be better remove them from area covered be industry or draw sth on them.
Quick idea: maybe draw some equipment if and only if industry have * supplies delivered. Maybe sth similar for other industries?

And one question. Is it inteded to make FIRS so machine shop oriented?
Another quick idea: maybe make cargo to good conversion way better than cargo to supplies conversion.
Quick subidea: machine shop produce: root(delivered), good production: linear(delivered).

It starts with a random layout, and then consecutively tries all layouts.

Would it be possible to grow industries as they produce more - for example add more storage sheds to the Cement factory as production increases?

Plastics Plant layouts. Can only think of these three...probably enough
Love the extra variety

You could change roof/door colours and/or change the numbers of storage cylinders if you felt you wanted more variations?

Now i heavent checked the industry newgrf specs completely, but i think it might be. But; when they are created they need to take all the needed land, and put some kind of foundation on them.

space=empty

compact:

acb

spread-out:

cab   eff

f ee

can't think of anything else right now...

Is it possible to make FIRS work with the DBset?

Currently the ECS extension for the DBset makes it possible to transport FIRS cargoes but it is not perfect, for instance the refrigerator wagon will not transport food and the flatbed wagon cannot be used for aluminium. I might be a little naïve but wouldn't it be a relatively small task to modify the ECS extension into a FIRS extension?

I'm not a coding talent myself and completely unfamiliar with coding GRF's but if someone could point me to the tools and info necessary I could give it a try myself.

The DB set is the one that needs to be changed... Probably mostly by extanding the cargo translation table, modifying the train action0s to include the correct cargos, and altering the action3s to assign the correct graphics; you will want the grf specs here: http://wiki.ttdpatch.net/tiki-index.php ... phicsSpecs

I would suggest an extra compact layout for all the bigger industries. Here like 3x3 without the storrage buildings.
