Seems like a brilliant set of boats.

I have one question about compatibility.
Im running openttd 0.6.2 and i cant get the ships to load. Have loaded an new game with just this set but no luck.

But does the set only work with nightlies or is the set an nightly?, i am little bit confused at the moment.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Get newer stable version 0.7.4, it really is much better than 0.6.anything.

It also works with stable, though I haven't checked a 0.6.x version for ages, least with this set. But the latest stable is also already 0.7.4. You should really, really consider to upgrade your OpenTTD. You don't loose anything.

I think FISH relies on the engine pool, which as far as I know is not in 0.6.

I don't know if this is the problem, but in older OpenTTD ship IDs were restricted to something like 00-0A. FISH uses a much higher range of IDs.

Same as the others said - I'd recommend upgrading OpenTTD :)

Great log raft!
But...
1) Diagonal size is strange - boat is extremly small, wood is enormous large.
2) Jump when loading
3) Why it go on 17 km/h even with 1 piece of wood?

Why all ship are introduced in 1900?

YANI - it may be nice to have option to get rid of standard ships
And it may be extremly nice to have high speed ship(s). Maybe futuristic one or hydrofoil? (the fastest hydrofoil reached more than 100 km/h! ) :bow:

It's just the way the code works. 11mph with *any* cargo, 21mph otherwise. Towing logs is dangerous - reduce speed :D I wouldn't mind coding it to have another 'medium' speed. It's way down my list of things to do though. Why not just use full load? (Also, there'll be a smaller log raft in a future version of FISH...that might help if you don't want to full load the big one).

One brief question: Are the passenger ferries supposed to be able to refit for all types of cargo? It's a little bit unrealistic, isn't it? Otherwise, the set is awsome.

Good point. They are vehicle ferries, so the thinking is they can carry trucks....trucks carry cargo. I find it a bit weird myself, but I figured players would prefer it this way.

If there were vehicle sprites that would help - but there are some headaches with doing that.

Forget about it. A player can voluntarily choose not to use ferries for transporting cargo. Once again, great work, I love it.

New version of FISH - turns off the default ships, except the hovercraft (more on that another day).

There's no parameter, the default ships are just GONE! If you miss them, you're frankly a bit strange :)

This could do with a bit of testing before I make it a proper release, would you be so good as to post a report on whether it works?

I just noticed it... you can refit the Island Trader to carry passengers and mail in all versions of the GRF. Haven't you changed this? It's very illogical that it can carry 360 passengers, while a small ferry can carry only 218 passengers.

Otherwise, the new version works fine. Great job - AS ALWAYS!

Well the Island Trader does have quite a big cabin area. There is a way to change capacity on refit. I haven't done it yet because I wonder if it's confusing to players if the capacity changes when refitting?

True, haven't thought of it. I've forgotten to write it, I've tested it with default industries, PBI & FIRS - everything seems OK. It even allows MB's NewShips w/o problems...
