QR Tilt Train & Rail Set (Broken and Dead)

This thread is no longer supported as of September 17th 2010. It will be replaced by a new thread featuring a totally redone and rescaled tilt train. I do not know if I will continue work on the QR rail set but when I feel like it I may come back to it. If anyone would like to help with it then go right on ahead.

A link to the new thread for the tilt train will be posted here eventually. You can also find a link in my signature.

You can draw anything you like, nothing's "taken". There would eventually have been tilt trains in Pineapple, but I never got to them.

I would suggest using my sprite templates to get the vehicle dimensions correct.

positions looks correct :)

and btw, if its a single train i can code it for you, should take me about 10 minutes :)

Ok, it should be nothing more then a DMU, a Mail car, and a passenger car. if I knew how to make the train company coloured, I would offer to put it in your set :p, but, its not really the greatest right now.

Another up date, hopefully I got the fron and back postitioned properly

Its gonna be a pain to do the 4 diagonals T_T

EDIT : Relised that the pic I had had messed up lighting, turns out the train is mostly silver with red and yellow stripes

EDIT (again ) : Swapped the First and Fifth Sprites

CC is easy. Just use the right colours.

You must swap the first and fourth sprite though if you want a grf coder to like you ;)

And heres the Company Colour One, though, Im not sure if that actually works, I did copy the colours from the win pallet

Edit : A few touch ups, bring the set up to code with the proper palleted colours

Not bad. Not bad at all! Try making the roof a little more interesting. Either by adding some stuff to it or by applying some noise.

Since I can't find a over head shot of the train, and the only video I found was of corse, crap...

Since its a DMU I might add come rads or a exhuast hole on top.

You should swap the fourth and 8:th sprite, think of the front of the train as the hand on a clock, starting at noon.

Not too bad. :)

Try making the underframe a bit bulkier: add the battery boxes and fuel tanks and other greeblies, and paint around them in black rather than transparent blue. You could also put in the CC pilot/cowcatcher down to the rails at the front.

OK, heres the finished sprites, I added in a mail car even though the real thing doesnt have one, just might be nice to have a high speed narrow guage mail car.

Could Somebody please help dig up technical specs on this train? Wikipedia has nothing other then the speed and the number of cars.

Edit : This Pic is a small example of what it would look like on narrow guage rails and standard guage, but Im keeping it narrow gauge, but I might release a standard guage version if theres a demand.

Not even the QR tilt trains?

The Ausset and matching landscape were mostly completed but needed to be coded and is being handled by people in the New South Wales rail set.
