No trains in train list

I am using the Nightly REv 1818, release date jan 31 08. None of my trains are showing up in the Train List. also almost none of the .GFS files are working for it. Any help would be much appreciated ^^ Here is a copy of my config file

That's a bug in the current version of TTDP - you can work around it by turning "sortvehlist" on.

That's because you've got "experimentalfeatures.mandatorygrm" turned on, which is a feature only intended for use by GRF developers. Turn it off and your GRFs should start working again.

Hi,
sorry, when i enable the sortvehlist, i got the following error message:
"Failed to find string #0008 at 0064A1A2, found 02/01 at 00576612 for oldfindnexttrain in patchsortvehlist".
and when i disable this switch, my list of vehicle is empty in the game.
Any idea on how to sove this issue?

Until someone figures out how to fix it, sortvehiclelist requires mammothtrains in the nightlies. So, for now, just turn mammothtrains on.

(And yes, no vehicles with sortvehiclelist off is a known issue.)

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have this issue and I assume I need to ammend the sortvehlist also, but I have no idea how/where to ammend it?(I'm new to the patch so am at a complete loss). Would someone kindly point me in the right direction please? The game runs perfectly apart from my having no vehicles at all :cry:

I'm using windows vista, and patch version 2.0.7.80 9hope this is the info required? ?( )

Edit ttdpatch.cfg with notepad. It can be found in the same directory as ttdpatch.exe or ttdpatchw.exe.

I put the year forward on the game which seems to have corrected things. i noticed the vehicles were only missing when i played scenarios i had created.

i thought it was that file but there doesn't appear to be "sortvehlist" anywhere in it ?(

In unpatched TTDX, the game normally starts in 1935. Consequently, in a patched game that allows for an earlier start, the default TTDX vehicles are not available until 1935. One has to load a vehicle set that has been designed to accommodate the earlier start year. Alternatively, in the ttdpatch.cfg file, there is a year setting which can be set to 1935 if you wish to stay with the default TTDX vehicles. I would say that your problem is not with "sortvehlist".

IIRC, the first bus appears around 1935, but the first rail engines don't appear until the mid-40s.

... :idea: Oh, good grief. 2.0.7! That's 2.0r1, isn't it? Please upgrade to 2.5 beta 9 or the nightlies.

On the other hand, that does prove that sortvehlist is not your problem, and wally is correct. Unless you load a newgrf (most of which no longer work in 2.0r1) there are no vehicles before about 1935, and you really shouldn't set startyear much before 1945.
