Newest version 1.8:
What´s new from 1.7
- Corrections and improvements according to the great suggestions of mr.trainmaster (see the post below)
- You can find there all major rivers and lakes (thanks to http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/coun ... layout.htm and wikipedia and other sources). And also the mountains are as much precise as the heightmap was.
- Significant places of USA (Death Valley, Area 51, Colorado Canyon etc. See the sign list!
- Updated: added Platte River and some rocks (from v1.4)
- The cities have the state abbreviations and each capital is noted there.
- 25 biggest cities are sorted according to the real amount of population (sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Un ... population and: http://www.city-data.com/top1.html). The rest of the cities is not proporcional. Please take into consideration that the differencies in cities´ populations are sometimes very tiny. Therefore, there will always be some disproportion, but I did it as real as possible.
- More than 400 towns and cities.
- The industry has been done mainly thanks to this VERY GOOD resource: http://www.mbendi.com/land/am/us/p0005.htm
- Coal mines according to this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_in_the_United_States
- Iron ore mines: according to the first resource, the main producers are states of Michigan, Missouri and Minnesotta
- Wood: logically, that was mainly a matter of Canada and was done more or less randomly within Canada
- Farming: http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache:CR ... clnk&gl=cz
- Oil: Texas and Alaska, of course... Again, thanks to the first resource.
- Note: I was considering ECS vectors, but it´s controversial for me, so I chose just to add some paper industries etc (see the grfs list below). Otherwise it´s more or less default.
- Industry in Mexico according to this source: http://www.nationsencyclopedia.com/Amer ... USTRY.html
- And one more note: mines´ and farms´ production is increased by me because I want it to stay there for a while. The production is sometimes doubled, sometimes tripled. If you mind, you can decrase it in scenario editor.
- based on heightmap
- Size: 2048 x 2048
- Compatibility: OpenTTD 0.7.0

- Of course, it´s up to you, how it will be. For example I like transrapid, which is incompatible with any bridges set, so if you prefer new bridges before the transrapid track, it´s up to you. Someone might suggest there´s too many grfs.. You can take away some, but let there the industries, because otherwise you might get some problems
- Some parameters are pre-set by me and tested. It should all work fine.
- I strongly recommend you to use the grfs mentioned above, because the parameters are pre-set by me and everything works perfectly. Even the total town replacement functions together with NA city set and with US road set and new bridges!
- I humbly recommend to use the setting "towns CANNOT build roads" because soon the cities may become very large and that might cause some disproportions in cities´ population.
Scenario available here: http://www.filiptailor.wz.cz/USA%20final.scn
Used grfs´ pack: http://www.filiptailor.wz.cz/pack.zip
I hope it´s ok that I offer those grfs. If it´s not, I will draw it down.
ENJOY!

PS: be careful when considering the transport between Cuba and USA
