I created a screenshot thread with cargodest some time ago, you can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=38860

It features both story-like screenshots of my game and screenshots that focus on aspects of the cargo destinations branch, e.g. explaining some new feature.

Did you try if it just applies? On first thought, I don't see where cargodest and c&p should conflict (except maybe for the usual and easy to fix places like settings).

Edit: A quick check shows, that copy_paste_r14589.patch indeed cleanly applies to current cargodest, but it neither compiles for trunk nor for cargodest. A file named command_queue.h is missing. From looking at the patch, I suspect that either someone renamed command_queue.h to copy_paste.h and didn't change the includes or forgot to svn add command_queue.h before creating the patch.

Seems like he doesn't have a binary ;)

Patching the code goes without problems apparently, but then you still have to compile to get a binary (and compiling seems to fail).

if it doesn't compile, there's nothing that could crash.

Not so. I compile several patches into my build, and they patch and compile fine, but crash on a failed assertation I haven't nailed down yet.

Edit: and whoever I was replying to deleted their post.

As I said, I would be very surprised if cargodest and c&p interfered with each other. The compilation problem is another issue which happens also in trunk and is due to the patch missing files (e.g. command_queue.h, command_queue.cpp). The one before looks even more suspicious as it has only a size of one third of the regular size.

It would be a great christmas present.

Attached is a first stab at a patch against trunk (r14756), based on copypaste-13911.patch.

It doesn't work 100%, there are a few crashes and failed assertions. All of the other previous problems (signal types etc.) still remain. I haven't tried with cargodest as I don't play it, so I wont be looking at that just yet. Tested with cygwin. I can load old games and start new ones, except the occasional crashes.

If I get some more time this week I'll try to fix the bugs and then work on improvements. If not, here's a start for somebody who wants to modify the code.

Edit: Oops, it seems some of the calls to DoCommandP were broken before I generated the diff. Latest one attached, will compile against trunk.

Call it a new year present. Or maybe for Christmas 2009?

Wil the copy/paste patch be updated for 0.7.0-beta1 as well?

Ok, thanks for the effort you have done, it has been apreciated by me.
I have certainly liked the tool, it has allowed me to develop my designs bigtime.
I think i read about another copypaste-project, anyone that can confirm my memory or i'm i just remembering wrong?
