"Macro" option for manipulating land

Post by robnas »

When making big maps, with landstructures that are coming back, it would be handy to have a tool that could record certain actions and appying it again with a push of the button.

For example: I want to make a standard landstructure for on/off rail-systems.
The structure is quite complicated, and I have to do it over and over again.
It would be handy to record the actions that are needed to complete the structure, so that I use it later on a different piece of land. That way I don't need to do the same difficult operation, it would spare me quite some time.

My idea is to create a begintile when pushing the "macro" button(it's the first tile where a certain action applies):
Every next step is relatively to the next tile(1 north, 2 east from begintile for example). When executing the macro, you select a tile as begintile, where the rest of the recorded actions will be executed.

I don't really know if I said it correctly, I'm from the Netherlands, so excuse me if I typed something wrong ;) .

maybe we could get something like the copy&paste patch for the scenario editor? With the difference that it'll copy tile shapes in stead of tracks ofcourse :)
