I hope Pikka would also rearrange vehicles with suggested IDs usage schema, because he planned (IIRC) to add trucks too.
This way sets conflicting with each other could hold trams separately, so the player can use any possible combination of RV and tram sets
I think the Hovs is gona have trams, busses, and trucks. It wouldn't make any sense to use it with long vehicles..

I've been a little busy lately, I haven't had time to look at NFO since before Christmas.

Hmm, after seeing Stevenh's post in the pictures thread, I'm throwing myself back into the ring. Prepare for updates, including company-colour trams!

I'm still going to be sticking with my original tram list, as it gives a decent balance over all the years. I do hope to add articulated trams if support for them is done in the next alpha versions, but have plenty of trams to work with if this doesn't happen.

Dual CC trams is up near the top of the list ;).

EDIT: Okay, I think I've got some kind of formula in my mind now...

I'd like to eventually split this turkey three ways. Same trams each way, I'm just finding peoples opinion differing based on how to do the CC's.

Okay, the first set will be done all prototyical liveries. Pretty much how the set was going to be from the get go. I'll throw some random liveries in for the C-Class, as that represents a broad selection of trams, classes A-H (or something simialr) from a broad selection of private companies. After that, it's red/cream until 1975, then green/cream from there till the end.

Simple.

Now, for the second set I would like to release. Same trams, only with Dual CC liveries.

C-Class will be dual CC.
W1/W2/W6 Classes will all be Cream/CC2 until 1975, then any new trams will be Cream/CC1 after that.
Z/Z3 Classes will all be Cream/CC1
A2 and B2 will all be Cream/CC1

Finally, I'm consdering doing a really simple, bare-bones GRF with ALL trams in a single, dual-CC scheme. HOV's style if you will. Aegir has expressed intrest in this, and if other people are interested, I will pursue it as well, otherwise, it's on hold.

I'm currently going through and CC'ing all of the existing trams, as well as preparing to start work on the Z/Z3 and A2. If articulated vehicles come into being, than the B2 as well.

Yakka! It's been over a year. But this set has so much potential. What's the word, Rai?

I don't have time. Someone else is free to do what they want with it all... My other hobbies take up too much time, and I lack the motivation to code. My apologies, I'd rather be chasing trains along the railway line with a camera these days.

I'd prefer it wait until after the NSWRS was in more of a release state before you work on this, because I'd rather not have to co-obberate on two different sets :|.

What do you mean "claim"? I don't get this notion this forum has of claiming everything as their own pet projects, it's a load of rubbish. Feel free to work on it, using my code and my sprites, provided I am credited appropriately.

But as for "claiming" it as your own, thats just silly. Anyone who wants to work on it should be able to.

Well, it would be counter-productive for two people to work on the same set at the same time, with no knowledge of the other.

Worked fine on the Dutch Trainset. Just show the others what you're doing. :))

Locked, and posts removed.

Whitehand/Lachlan, as I already stated, you may use any code and sprites from this set you want, provided that I am credited for work used.

However, I don't like the idea of people "claiming" sets as their own - this is not a contest. There is a profound difference in a friendly "hey, I'll code this" and a "this is my set because I'm the coder".

If I don't like how the set is run in the future, I reserve the right to withdraw any work of mine used, simply because this a community, not somewhere where talented coders (yes, Whitehand, you're becoming one of them) can hold their skills to ransom to make minions fall into line. I'm not saying this WAS happening here, I'm trying to PREVENT it happening in the future.

Anybody has anything to say, please address it to me via PM. Any person(s) wishing to restart this set using my code and my sprites is free to, provided I receive credit. My sprites and code may be modified as well, again provided original credit remains with myself. If you choose to modify my sprites, keep in mind my wishes to withdraw them should things get out of hand.

That is all.
