either my comp is baing lame, or the link will be temp dead for the night.
if anyone can post a mirror they know of for me i would be thankfull. maybe your hosting the latest version somewhere on your own space for a guy like me :)

Sourceforge is, for a change, totally (and I mean: TOTALLY) f*** up. So, here is a download link that does work:

http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourc ... -win32.exe

We will look into other solutions to provide the files via http.

Use nighty link or MiniIN link if you want the lastest features then ;)

0.4.8 is quite old and is not up to date at all (but it's stable) except some rare bugs.

You consider releases from two months ago to be old? ;)

I mean. It's old because there is not much new features than the first edition or TTD. And as TTD was designed in 1993... ;)

Seriously, MiniIN and Nighties just offer tons of new features, and the 0.4.8 is clearely deprecated considering the new features :)

LOL! I agree with you that 0.4.8 is old, but to say that is almost has no new features against the original TTD, that really goes too far. There are TONS of changes in 0.4.8. Of course, the latest nightly even has more changes, but no, 0.4.8 really has many many many features that the original TTD doesn't have.

Please, do have your fact straight ;)

I wonder if they are going to release a 0.4.9 version of OTTD incorperating all the new features found in the nightlys?

Hmm, you are right, I can't direct link to such pages. Bad luck ;) But, lucky, SF found their 'bug' in the download s***, and fixed it. So now the first link should work and present to you many mirrors you can download from.

If you fail in this, you might want to give torrent a try. Currently I am collecting mirror-hosts so put the binaries online outside SF, against such 'problems'. This should be done somewhere this week.

But, if you really want to play the game, do as some suggest, get the binaries from http://www.openttd.org/nightly.php. And if you can't download them or something, it really is a problem at your side :)

No it's not. That particular link is 404.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS encase links in tags; phpBB's url-end-detection is lou ... ]This link might work better.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

I was kidding ;)
But there are so many interresting features in the Nighties and MiniIN that a new layer should consider trying directly these instead of 0.4.8 ;)
I love subsidiaries and PBS, with them, it's a total new OTTD :)

No. New features means a new major version number. 0.4.9, if released, will be bugfixes only.

In fact, it is said that 0.4.8 is the last release of the 0.4 branch.
