Canadian Stations Set: Updated 21/01/08 - v0.3d RELEASED!

Post by lifeblood »

Greetings. Here is the much needed v0.3d release of the Canadian Stations Set. Below you will find the appropriate DOS and WIN versions of v0.3d, as well as the User Guide. But hold on! Two post below you'll find a useful tool, v0.2z, which will help you convert games from v0.2c to v0.3. It has documentation packaged with it. As well, some versions of TTDP and OTTD may not yet support v0.3d, so v0.2c is still available two posts below. As always, please report any and all bugs in this thread.

Enjoy!

I've always wanted to code some stations; but didn't have the time to draw the sprites and we desperately need good stations that work with other track systems (i.e. narrow gauge). I can give you a hand with coding your stations.

Ouu excellent! You're the new principal coder of the Canadian Stations Set. PM me an email address and I'll send you the platform sprites. They'll be the most difficult to code, I imagine. Most of my stations will be full tiles.

Feel free to use any of my US stations in this set, if you think they'll fit.

The platforms are based on your basic brick ones. You will of course be credited. :D

Mama Mia! That looks great! Living in Northern Alberta, I rarely see these great trains and stations of the Canadian set. So I really do enjoy these. Keep up the great work!

Oz, I re-jigged the cross walks using the boards-between-the-tracks idea. Below is noth narrow and standard gauge rails with a common cross walk. It's slighly out on the standard gauge, but I think we're going to have to live with it. :D

I'll make some proper sprites out of them and send them over.

Yes, mind your steps; but it looks quite alright; you need a keen eye to see that there is a bit of timber missing with the standard gauge track.

Jasper? As in Jasper, Alberta?

Jolly good place, that is. Crazy topography though.
Also, nice station, but the real one (I've seen it) is a tad dirtier.
Imagination! Here, you learn what it is to be human. You are a creator of order, of beautiful shapes and systems, an organizer of chaos.

Just a question though, shouldn't the track tile be snowy? Or is this just a test and I'm being too pushy? :)

And can you change the direction the building is facing for the first station?

The first station is a full tile width, so can be placed on either side of the tracks

Actually, that's just a temporary image. I wanted to have at least something to look at on this page. The reverse direction for Jasper has not been completed, and that station will not be in the first release.

pushy ... no, test ... yes.

I haven't actually considered that, thanks for mentioning it. The snowy version works like a livery override, if above snowline; and the code does not really distinguish between below and above snowline - I need to revisit that.

... and here is the result from my traineeship ... now the serious stuff can begin ...
