Scenario downloads...

Post by patrick_kn »

Hi there,

I'm a completely newbie concerning OpenTTD. So fas as I've been surprised about OpenTTDs features I just wanted to play some games. But those maps I'm playing on get very obstruct after a few days. So I was looking for new scenarios with maybe a bigger map-size. Thus I started searching for it in the Internet. But I couldn't find anything (apart from smaller maps). I just Found this forum and I started looking around and using the search-feature of this phpBB-forum. Maybe I'm too stupid but I found anything, yet. Could someone help?

Thanks
Bye

Thanks. But most scenarios there have less than 512 x 512. But I'm searching for 2048 x 2048!

Nevertheless - thanks!

Hi patrick_kn

With the current map editor, there are not many people that are willing to make such a HUGE map. A 512x512 is already quite big to make. I think only 2048x2048 would be possible if there is some kind of 'multiplayer map editor'... hmm could be an idea  .

I'm working on a 1024x1024.... but it's complete made for making big money 8) it's all flat, a wide lane of land where you can put a track all around your map....

I can see why no-one creates 2048x2048 maps as i've been working on a 1024x1024 for a while now, i did a attempt a 2048x2048 but gave up. i will try again when i've completed my current 1024x1024 game or the next one

a 512 map will be 4 times as much work as a 256 map (standard)
a 1024 map will be 4*4=16 times as much work as a 256 map
a 2048 map will be 4*4*4=64 times as much work as a 256 map, that's pretty much.
